Whoever guessed that the mystery girl is Sky Watcher gets a cookie. I'm really pleased to see her come back--looks like she's been keeping an eye on more than just the sky ever since then.

Well, the upper left part of the page is definitely meant to be the occasion when S13 came to Sky Watcher. But unless I have overlooked them, Sky Watcher was not shown in the chapter in which Kat awoke a Golem for the first time. So I think it's too early for handing out cookies, the only two characters who were confirmed there for both of these occasions are S13 and Shadow 2.
But even if MNP turns out to be someone different, I am glad we got a reference to the chapter with our favorite mantis.

Fair enough. I think speculation in the previous thread set me up for a confirmation bias here, but you're right; it's probably a little early to come to a conclusion. It does seem more likely now though.

Robot just said that this (presumably his transformation into this form) is his penance, but he didn't say for what. On this page, perhaps we're being shown what he feels he should do penance for. With panel borders made from feathers and barnacles, a reference to Robot's distortion form, we see flashbacks to incidents from chapter 25 and chapter 33 when Robot was proselytizing to other robots about the Angel. We also see that in the present moment, Shadow is sadly saying that he remembers these times, with Annie looking on, and the mystery New Person watching in the background. Tom's comment: "Happened a little while ago" (yes, it's been a minute, as they say). My question is, what exactly is happening diegetically? I guess Robot's describing those past moments to Annie and Shadow, and we readers are seeing them as flashbacks? Or are Annie and Shadow actually somehow seeing these flashbacks, possibly via distortion weirdness? So Robot seems to believe that he's doing penance for ... what? Proselytizing about the Angel in and of itself? Or does he specifically mean forcing Kat into the role of the Angel? Is he going to confess this to Annie and Shadow at long last? Annie doesn't seem to have figured it out on her own. |

It's amazing that Shadow remembers such events, with them taking place so long ago. He does have a really, really impressive memory.  |

Soneone complained about this in some other thread; the complaints bothered me before but now I'm starting to agree: things are happening a little slooooooooow these past few weeks.
There are a lot of things yet to happen but we seem to be stuck in a long trip, stopping in every town and village for days each. That Saslamel bit crawled for too long and now we have another big arc inside the (already enormous) distortion arc. I'm feeling inside that german TV series, "Dark".
Maybe I'll just go reread from the beginning again, for maybe the eleventh time.
I'm an a-hole.

Where was this confirmed? Don't mind me; I'm just over here jumping to conclusions. My primary theory is still that this girl is an amalgam of other characters: Zimmy, Coyote, etc. But people brought up Sky Watcher in a previous thread and then this page echoed the line Robot said to Sky Watcher so I assumed this was their/her memory, forgetting Shadow was there the whole time too. |

Personally, I'm pretty sure that Distortion Weirdness is actually showing the gang these memories of Robot's – otherwise, Shadow's line and expression on this page doesn't really make sense. He's acting like somebody watching a recording of a familiar scene, not somebody listening to another person actively describe a familiar scene. |
