They were able to run from the spiders and punt Coyotedawg. I think the greatest danger so far has been Antimony.

The religious subtext in Reynard's line was very apt. But also, the way they walk together truly does feel like they are gonna be a cool psychopomp pair.

Also 250th post after 10 years of being on these forums. Yippee!!

Congrats! Also, I still can't help feeling something uncanny, but it seems to be played completely straight now, so waiting for another shoe to drop next comic or two. Interesting that they state Kat's workshop as their safehouse space though. "Be careful. Who knows what's out there?" As Annie and Renard walk away, Kat shimmers to reveal she was Coyote all along or something.

Interesting that, in the first panel, both Kat and Annie appear to be watching the 'person of interest' before switching the topic.
Who knows what's in here?

Why does Renard keep calling Kat "angel" and "divine being"? Renard, are you Robot?

Why does Renard keep calling Kat "angel" and "divine being"? Renard, are you Robot? Robonard. It's a fair question because I keep thinking myself that it feels slightly out of character for him. But not MASSIVELY so. It's like the Uncanny Valley but for personality traits.

Sounded like a song reference to me, but alas no direct match.

Why does Renard keep calling Kat "angel" and "divine being"? Renard, are you Robot? Well I guess if there's anyone here who should be able to tell who is a divine being and who isn't, it should be Renard.

Well I guess if there's anyone here who should be able to tell who is a divine being and who isn't, it should be Renard. And even beside this, he has persistent Ether perception (unlike Annie who forgets to use her capabilities all the time). Thus: replacing him must maximize confusion.

I'm been imagining this whole thing as an RPG metaphor or a Zimmy/ Coyote/ Loup-conflict version of Super Zimmy World.
Spider attack -> Riddle Hamster test of the mind -> forest encounter -> mad Robot encounter -> Jeanne boss attack *it's super effective*
(pause game for funeral arrangements)
So now if we extend the metaphor, Kat - who has been mission control/ Otacon/ "Hey, Listen!" this whole time - has established a save point or checkpoint. Annie continues her Quest
"We know how to get back here."
"We just have to return to the overworld map!"

... Super Zimmy World... *it's super effective* ... "Hey, Listen!" My Lord! You've been able to gracefully quote Mario, Pokémon and Zelda in a single post. As a Zelda fanatic, I respectfully thank you, Master.

Why does Renard keep calling Kat "angel" and "divine being"? Renard, are you Robot? I think "angel" was a joke. Renard's good at being deadpan. But beyond that, Renard's always thought of things in terms of magic and religion. Kat used to be a "wizard," Zimmy was a "demon" until he started seeing her as a goddess. Renard's less dismissive of the scientific PoV than Coyote or Ysengrin, but that doesn't mean he understands it much better. Technology is basically weird magic to him. If Kat can generate new souls and dispose of them after death, then she's a divine being as far as Renard's concerned. That doesn't necessarily make her Coyote-class...but then, by creating her own version of biological humans, she's already accomplished something he never could.

Unrated version: Theatrical release: Interesting that, in the first panel, both Kat and Annie appear to be watching the 'person of interest' before switching the topic. The more about I ponder it, the more I suspect her to be an amalgamation of at least two of the amigos.
