In the closeup it looks like the cables do not in fact plug into the eyes of MechaGoddessKat.

Kat's Mecha-Goddess form has crashed the site. How meta.

"Moon Prism Power!" Sadly, Goku has no transformation phrase, other than screaming for four episodes.

The visual has given up showing fractured shards; the Machine Angel's techno-organic form is now directly being used to separate whatever passes as frames on this page. Annie urges Kat to concentrate, because the Arbiter is calling her. Rather than explaining, Annie suggests that Kat focus on her voice and try to picture Annie in her mind. But Kat is having trouble doing that. So Annie decides to use her fire to light the Ether. Surrounded by an aura of fire, Annie is certainly more visible to someone, but is Kat that someone? Her fire appears to be doing some damage to the Machine Angel's substance, but whether that's actually injurious to Kat is unclear at this time. Annie's expression as she lights up seems rather severe, as if she's frustrated, but perhaps she's merely concentrating. If this is indeed from Kat's point of view, the appearance and now disappearance of the shards could indicate that she was able to detect Annie and the Interpreter briefly at first through the distortion's fragmented space, but now she's losing touch with where Annie is, and it's getting more difficult for her to sense Annie again. Maybe a bright fiery Annie will be easier to sense. Annie is quite determined to make sure the Arbiter's will is done – or is it that she's driven by a desire to claim Sam's soul?

I saw the page last night, and then the website went crazy. I had the momentary thought that maybe Tom had put the wrong page up, because honestly it feels like a sequence break (along with breaking the panel and breaking the Distortion) But I see now that it's still the same page. I'm not sure what Annie is helping Kat do, I suppose Annie needs her to be able to see the ether Distortion in the same way that she does.

I'm not sure what Annie is helping Kat do, [...] The way I see it, Annie is "burning away" the Mechagodess "suit": that suddenly overcame Kat, freeing her to see the middle ground ether simplification, like when freeing GreeGuy(TM).:

I was thinking more of a guiding beacon, but yeah, I wonder exactly how she's trying to make this work. On the other hand, we know how it's turned out (is turning out) since the last time that Annie tried to guide Kat through projecting her consciousness...

I just remembered a scene from one of the Star Trek books, "I,Q." In the book, Q brings Picard and Data to the Q Continuum, which Picard mentally pictures as a scene from a detective novel. Q (first-person narrator) remarks to the reader that the real Continuum would drive Picard insane. Data, unfortunately, lacks the ability to "filter" the scene, so he "crashes." Q has to use his god-like powers to bring Data back, so he can see what Picard sees. Is something similar happening with Kat? (Not a perfect example, but still...) She's met Salami Mel before, so it can't be just that... is the Distortion distorting Kat's perception? Does Annie have to bring Kat over to her POV?

I'm sorry, but all I can think of is that one quote by Order of the Stick's character Varsuvius - "As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social problems it is incapable of solving approaches zero."

I think she's just determined to make sure Kat stops pissing off the Arbiter & Interpreter by accidentally breaking things again. We don't want any severe consequences.
