She may be trying to think herself (and the Noobs) away from there. I guess we'll know next page.

Last time someone got stabbed (or almost stabbed), it resulted in Annie losing the trust of two previous (if weird) allies in Red and Ayilu, hopefully this page isn't preceding history repeating itself here with the New People.

It also resulted in her making a deal with supernatural beings who made her take up a role she never wanted (Smitty & the psycopomps)

I wonder if there's some equivalent of Steadman's green arrow that she can find and retrieve. In an indirect way, that was what was keeping Jeanne there and feeding her rage.
Hoping that the New People's superior constitution will mean that the NP(C) who was stabbed will be more alright than Smitty – because he's going to be their first real confrontation with their "mortality*" (unless Annie makes another etheric deal with... who this time? Coyote? Kat's avatar?).
*: Who knows how long these folks are going to exist

This page made me think that this might be the one of the last chapters of GC. From a meta perspective this distortion is providing a call back to many of the major events of the comic, so narratively this a good way to wrap up.

I think we're transitioning to another scene, but I'm curious why she attacked the NP with the box. It's even in another frame.

This recreation of Jeanne has impaled the bald New Person who has been carrying the CPU box, singling him out for this over all other possible targets. In today's first frame this has just happened, and although he's let go of the box it hasn't fallen to the ground yet, so this is all happening very quickly. The dark-skinned NP and the long-black-haired NP look on in surprise and horror.
In the second frame we focus on Jeanne's face and the NP's face – she's pulled him toward her, because as he's shown in the first frame he appears to be falling backward, away from her.
In the third frame he's fallen forward past her, and it's unclear what's happening with his back – the back of his track suit looks torn, which wouldn't be the case if he'd just been impaled (there'd be a hole, but not a tear). There are some white streaks behind him, suggesting that Jeanne's doing something, but it's not terribly clear from the art. Perhaps she slashed him with her sword, which is now not visible? But things are still moving very quickly, because the box has fallen farther but still hasn't reached the ground. Jeanne is turning toward him as he falls, and she may be reaching for the box with the clawlike fingers of her left hand, but I can't be sure that's what she's doing.
And then we see Annie, also looking on in shock and horror. The final frame is broken up into a vertical sequence of horizontal slices. I think that's meant to show, again, that this is happening very quickly. Annie has covered her eyes with her hands and crouched down to the ground. Her hair is up in the air, showing us that she's dropped to the ground quickly and her hair hasn't caught up yet. Surrounding her are many gray-brown spots which could be dust but could also signify an impending transition ... or something else, of course.
The only words are below the page, in Tom's comment, "Think fast". What's Annie's plan? She must have realized something that made her think that crouching down and covering her eyes would be a useful thing to do right now. Is she trying to activate a transition away from this scenario to another one? Typically those have been caused by accessing something familiar. When has Annie crouched down with her eyes covered, though? In the plan to free Jeanne, Red and Ayilu were crouching while Ayilu created the illusion that they were standing, so when Jeanne tried to attack Ayilu, she wasn't actually there – is Annie trying to retroactively un-stab the NP by imagining that perhaps they were all actually kneeling the whole time? Weird idea, and I don't think so. On the other hand, what if Annie's got a theory that this is all being shown to her, so if she stops looking at it, it will stop being real?

"It was a funny episode.... of our lives..." I do suspect that we are in the final act of Gunnerkrigg - I mean, we have the court fleeing for Space Jonestown, Kat becoming more and more techno-godlike, and the Zimmy/ Coyote/ Loup distortion RPG clash - with Kat mysteriously gone with just a suspicious voice in a box for a replacement - would fit right in with that.

Where have all the boxbots gone, and where are all the gods? Where is the streetwise Jack and Jen, To fight the rising odds? Isn't there a white knight on his Orjak steed? Late at night I toss and turn, And I dream of what I need!
I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night He's gotta be strong And he's gotta be fast And he's gotta be fresh from the fight I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light He's gotta be sure And it's gotta be soon And he's gotta be larger than life Larger than life (ah, ah)

Coyote? Kat's avatar?). I think Lana alread claimed that achievement. Her fellow New People didn't see her life end – nor, for that matter, did anyone else. I think of "first real brush with mortality" as the difference between watching someone drown in a pool vs someone being lost at sea. But that sense of hard definition (and death seems definite on the physical, personal side) goes all elastic when viewed through the ether. Add some advanced weird science, and who the hell knows what anybody's experiencing.

Just because that NP got stabbed, doesn't mean it is dead. Robots are pretty resilient. It is only assumed that Lana is dead because her body appeared to be totally destroyed. If you think back to that time when Robot was cut into pieces with Annie's Laughing Sword, he was able to be repaired and re-embodied. In the case of Lana, I still feel like that was a Coyote trick and we'll still see her show up in a box in the Toy Store eventually. I don't feel like we know enough about what Kat has created to even form a useful opinion on the current situation. If bald dude IS dead, you can think of him as Ensign Nameless, and picture him wearing a red shirt. If that isn't mean enough, then consider the possibility that he was Boxbot! To add to the fun, we're in a distortion, so who knows how literally things should be taken?
