As we reasoned, they thought that as long as Jeroop was maintaining the disguise he wouldn't cause trouble.

Okay but like, did you "like-like" like me, or like, just "like" like me?

Okay but like, did you "like-like" like me, or like, just "like" like me? "B- but I do like you, Annie! Say a word and I will drop Lana like a hot potato!" And Lana overhears, goes into vengeful waifu state, takes the ToothSword and kills loup. Technically, Annie "did" it And that is the inflection point where all the peace treaties goes south

Very efficient of them to go straight to the post-breakup talk without ever having been together.
Now we just have to wait for Annie to "break up" Loup into his component parts.

I keep thinking someone needs to slip in a "platonic" somewhere in all that. Just to make sure there's no miscommunication... no more miscommunication.

Huh, I did not expect Annie to be this honest with her emotions. She's been so emotionally guarded in the past.

For some reason I feel they're using "like" with different meanings in this conversation.

Huh, I did not expect Annie to be this honest with her emotions. She's been so emotionally guarded in the past. Hmm... well, she did discuss emotions with Ysengrin, back in the day. Maybe she's talking to the Ysengrin part of Loup/Jerrek here.

For some reason I feel they're using "like" with different meanings in this conversation. Definitely. And with Jeroup not the most emotionally mature, I feel like he's going to completely misinterpret what Annie's trying to say. Just hope it doesn't strain his relationship with Lana. Although I always got the idea Jerrek was crushing on Annie almost because he felt he was..... supposed to in a way? That just because Ysengrin, Coyote, and Loup felt a form of love for her, that he automatically was supposed to as well. But when he got together with Lana, he realized that love wasn't the kind that had actual romance attached to it and instead was more of the kind one felt for a friend.......or maybe I'm just giving the emotionally-nutty reality warper waaaaaay too much credit.

Okay but like, did you "like-like" like me, or like, just "like" like me? Wouldn't work. Antimony walks without rhythm to educate.

The conversation between Jerrek/Loup and Annie continues. He says that it still seemed as if she liked him last time they spoke, even though she must have known he was really Loup then. And Annie says that she liked him when he was acting normal. On the way she explains to us readers why she didn't do or say anything about knowing he was Loup – why she didn't act to protect Lana from the mad fox-body-burning deity, for one thing, and why they didn't raise the alarm.
