Does anyone know when Jerrek jumped on the Kat = Angel bandwagon? He decided there must be ' more to her than I can see' after she showed off the matter manipulators in chapter 84 but this is the first time we've seen him actually call Kat an angel.

I think he sees how the Robots/NewPeople worship her, and believes that this his how he should be treated too perhaps. Or else there is going to be a plotline around whether the body or the mind makes the person, and how the body you are in affects the person you are.

Yeah, I expect next page will be like Loup slowly waking up "Wait, that was not how I am supposed to react... Oh, I forgot I am Loup! I even deceived myself!"

No plane crashes now, Master 'Jerrek'!
(For now, I am going with 'a cross-section of community reactions'.)

The mind is nothing but a plaything of the body, correct? Between that and Coyote forgetting he wasn't a dead goose for a while, it's clear that there can be consequences for shapeshifting that Loup isn't really prepared for.

I was coming in here as well to say the exact same thing, looks like Loup is finding out that the mind is but a plaything of the body. How long has he been exclusively in Jerrek-form in the love nest? Seems like we're starting to have a dead goose situation on our hands. And perhaps - a hint toward why Annie will eventually have to kill Loup, if this ends up putting Kat in danger. Or if he wakes up after going far down the Jerrek path and feels like he's been tricked.

Hold on, does Jerek/Loup know the Angel and Kat are the same person?
Edit: Ok yes he did. What a strange reaction from Loup here.

Coyote is well established as seeing himself as a greater being, as was ys. Someone that made an entire set of beings to worship them (shadow men) is probably going to see any ehteric being of similar sway as deserving of equal respect. Though I suspect that may change once he knows exactly who The Angel is...

So, what does Loup know about just what Kat is? So far, he has not shown any sign of knowing that Kat is anything more than human.

Huh, I wonder if Loup is starting to really recognize Kat as a goddes now. Is it time for establishing Godhood Club?

I wonder how Lana will take this? Is Loup/Jerrik capable of learning something of lose, from the juxtaposition of his romantic life and Kat's? I think that's too much empathy for him, but he may find an example in Lana. Okay. Didn't expect Jerrik to come out swinging like that. There's some "divine ego" there. "How dare someone deny a divine being like me" sort of sentiment. He might be loosing himself in the Jerrik persona, because that's a big emotional jump.

Jerrek and Lana been lifting weights it seems It's a lot of work to carry all the love they have for each other. Or something. Also, I wonder if Loup may be the reason that the "angel" ends up looking the way she does by the end of her journey to godhood.

Ysengrin: deep veneration and zealous defense of Coyote ↓ Loup: slight sabbatical of self-determination and long-repressed resentment toward all authorities, past and present ↓ Jerrek: deep veneration and zealous defense of the Angel/Kat
How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man

Kat did impress Loup earlier with her clarktech, so I wouldn't be surprised if he saw her as a peer even without any mind/body shennanigans. And we already know how he reacted to his own love rejecting him...

This reaction seems to be more like how some people react when a social media celebrity-ship crashes. They are very upset for their celebrity fave, and very critical of the other person. So it would appear that Loup has some way of tuning in to the Kat-Paz drama, and got sucked in like a normal person with too small a life of their own.

Does anyone know when Jerrek jumped on the Kat = Angel bandwagon? He decided there must be ' more to her than I can see' after she showed off the matter manipulators in chapter 84 but this is the first time we've seen him actually call Kat an angel. My guess is that Robot surreptitiously programmed that into every former robot he helped transition into a New Person body. The one of those we saw in chapter 75 had Robot with the appearance of an angel, and referring to Kat as "the angel." When Loup made his Jerrick body exactly like one of the New People, he got that programming as part of it.

So when Loup transformed into what looks like a New Person, he was also somehow affected by Robot's programming of the actual NPs? How would that work?

My immediate thought was that Loup has forgotten that he is Loup and not the dead goose in the bush by the lake. Maybe getting close to the star ocean had an effect on him?

As an aside: Ever since "Jerrek" was introduced, I have been baffled by how many misspellings and variants of that name people (and autocorrect, probably) can come up with. Sometimes I even thought it was an inside joke.
As for Loup, it looks like he is now really starting to forget he is not "Jerrek".

^I made a teeny change in the dialogue in that last panel to emphasize what I think the main source of Jerrek's outrage is (at this moment in the comic).
