The yellow tulips are an interesting touch. As I understand it (or as Google understands it for me), they were traditionally associated with jealousy and unrequited love, but more recently they've come to symbolize hope and (non-romantic) good wishes. All those meanings seem applicable to Paz & Kat's relationship. I also note that their parting is being witnessed by two romantic couples...and Annie and Renard. For me, that's another nickel in the "they're basically a couple now" jar.

Did not expect the departure to be that abrupt.
I wonder how much Paz actually told Kat of that conversation with Annie, especially about the fears for what Kat could become. Something like that would need a long and thorough work through for both parties to say that heartfelt a goodbye, which in my mind leaves it a bit of an open question.

Is it too soon to wildspec about planes "shot" down by the Forest God/minions, thus enraging a MechaGod and bringing apotheosis?

I just hope Tom's comment doesn't mean we won't be seeing Paz again, like with Red and Ayilu.

I have so many thoughts on this chapter but my most pressing thought is: I couldn’t find the main menu chapter icon in the actual pages hahaha, has anyone else spotted it? Iirc all of them so far have been snippets from the comic itself? XD

It's on this page, Kat's Karamatsu Keyring As controversial as she's been lately, I'll miss Paz. I do think she's gone for good.

It's the keyring in 2742, but not represented with that artwork.

I really liked this page, it's sweet, and I like that they're not dragging it out and there's no dramatic tech-goddess breakdown or anything like that. I also note that their parting is being witnessed by two romantic couples...and Annie and Renard. For me, that's another nickel in the "they're basically a couple now" jar. Assuming you don't mean Annie and Renard, do you mean Annie and Kat? I kinda hope that's not how it goes, I always liked how Kat's platonic relationship was the one that was more meaningful to her.

Count me as another who hadn't expected Paz to depart on the bonus page, but it's well-handled. If I ever make a list of my favorite bonus pages, it'll e among them.

So fast! And so sweet~ I guess we're not going to see Paz in a long time since i doubt Court accepts incoming flights right now. I hope they'll meet again once this all is over.

I do mean Annie and Renard, actually. I'd personally prefer that Annie and Kat end up together because I'm a sucker for the "childhood friends" trope--and there was Kat's blush back in the day--but after this scene, it seems like Annie/Renard is probably what's happening. If so, I know the age difference and used-to-like-my-mom thing would creep a lot of readers out. But I reassure myself by thinking that 1) the power differential is entirely in Annie's favor, 2) Renard's always been supportive of her dating human(ish) boys if she ever wanted to do so, and 3) at least it's not as bad as Jones....

I'm guessing that after Janet wasn't invited to the pureblood humans club--or declined the invitation--the Secret is no longer a secret....

Robots, still in their graves: "Ah man, we missed it."
It doesn't make logical sense, but sometimes I think that I'll see certain people again. I don't know why I do. People leave our lives, never to appear again. Life doesn't rhyme. Some people irrevocably alter our life's path, and never cross it again. Go figure.
I like this ending. It seems good and true.

So much for all that nuclear-meltdown-techno-angel-going-supervillain doomsaying by certain people in the recent page threads. If so, I know the age difference and used-to-like-my-mom thing would creep a lot of readers out. But I reassure myself by thinking that 1) the power differential is entirely in Annie's favor Really, that is just one additional creep factor for me. For the longest time of this comic, Renard has practically been Annie's slave.

I do wonder about that plane with the fold-up stairs. That's not a commercial airliner. Either a) the Court was nice enough to lend her a plane, or b) she has access to a private jet.

Vaya con Dios, Paz.

Oh wow I'm sorry but no that's even worse imo. It's already been mentioned, but the age gap, the weird "Annie owned him and he is now her familiar/pet". A similar power level does not equal out different ages and levels of maturity, especially considering he's taken a role as a father figure so far (maybe more of a cool uncle, but regardless). For me, it'd be very yikes if this is really what's planned.

This bonus page clearly takes place at least one tearful conversation later. Let me just describe what I see ...
There are clouds in the sky, so this can't take place very near the star ocean, and that makes sense, because there's a very mundane looking small aircraft ready in the background, probably there to take Paz back to Spain (or to somewhere she can switch to a connecting flight). Paz and Kat embrace; we can't see either of their faces, but we can see the bandaid on the back of Kat's neck, so it can't be so much later that the incision has healed. But at least some time has passed, because they're in different clothes (as is Annie, in the background, but we'll get to her). At their feet are yellow flowers – possibly yellow chrysanthemums or yellow roses, both flowers used to indicate farewell. A few stray petals are drifting in the wind, which is clearly causing Paz's dress to billow.
In the background, we see three couples – Janet and Winsbury (does this mean they've given up pretending that they're not an item?), Margot and John, and Annie and Renard. They're all in the distance, and their faces aren't drawn, but their poses are. Janet has a hand to her face, indicating that she might be crying, and Winsbury may or may not have an arm around her; he's standing pretty ramrod-straight otherwise. John most definitely has an arm around Margo's waist, and she's got both hands on him, one visibly on his chest, and she's leaning on him. Annie is standing primly or possibly nervously, with her hands clasped in front of her, flanked by Renard.
This does lead to speculation about exactly how much of a couple Annie and Renard consider themselves to be, as they're drawn alongside two definite couples – is Renard the individual whom Annie has a secret crush on? They recently rededicated themselves to each other, though not in what seemed to be exactly a relationship sort of way.
It doesn't appear that Kat went ballistic or got violent, as I had halfway feared. But she's got a long road ahead of her. Goodbye, Paz. I don't know if we'll see you again.
And there still haven't been any robots rising from their graves, figuratively or literally. But maybe this is only how that gets started.

I do wonder about that plane with the fold-up stairs. That's not a commercial airliner. Either a) the Court was nice enough to lend her a plane, or b) she has access to a private jet. We saw this plane at the start of the side comic 'Traveller'. It had GC livery and Paz was a passenger. It is presumably a court jet* piloted by robots. *If Paz ever features in another side comic, perhaps it will be called 'The Court Jetter'? I'll take my flagon and go...
