For some reason I heard Kat's dialogue in Eric Cartman's voice this comic.

This page has strong Girl Genius vibes. All that's missing is her voice cracking with the Spark and something about to explode. or the musical note that Agatha makes when she's in spark mode, non-officially called hetrodyning. This is a worrying amount of casual power to wield and humans tend to convince themselves of things a bit easily in this manner.

I really liked this page. As far as singular frames covering the entire page goes, this one had good composition, good lightning and showcases the character's new abilities.

Hmm, so the black eyes aren't protection from arcs, perhaps VR screens directly over the cornea?
And will she make the mistake of confusing controlling what she wants with controlling who she wants?
Magic 8ball points to "maybe".

So the aim of connecting the chip directly to her brain seems to be to gain control of her stuff though her hands. I'm sure there was no other way to that. And if the black on her eyes is a screen, that's another thing that bypasses the direct connection.
It's probably just a storytelling thing, so that we have a visual indicator that she is doing something. Or maybe she'll fall into the trope of powerful magic technology users who lose an their powers as soon as you bind their hands.

Maybe it is just a thing the cool gods do.

Eeeeyup. Genuine super villain vibes right there! "Pursuing the greater good", "caring yet ready to sacrifice you for the sake of the grand scheme" type.
Also i think her face on this page is gorgeous~

Kat who cried when she found out about the purpose of Paz's mice and freed Jane, "ready to sacrifice you for the sake of the grand scheme"? Kat, the one person who was most upset that the robots were used as a shield, and the one who bothered to rescue them after Loup retaliated? Nah. She'd be the last person to sacrifice people for "the greater good". Sometimes she fails to foresee the consequences of what she's doing, and there's definitely danger in that. But I can't see her going ahead with a plan if she actually knows it will hurt someone. She's a clueless kid but never a villain.

And i doubt she'll ever become one (even if consequences of her actions can possibly lead to something terrible i don't think it would mean she's evil or anything). It's just the feeling i get from this exact page without much context. I was assuming what type of a villain she would be if she (like some alternative timeline Kat), for example, never met or lost Annie in the first chapters or been betrayed by someone or if some other default villain backstory stuff would happen. So yeah. I don't think Kat could do anything bad... at least on purpose! She's too sweet for that. And i agree with Paz that Kat is in good hands so to speak. I actually like Kat being described as a "clueless kid". A very VERY smart clueless kid~

Which is not entirely a comforting thought with Robot and his cult in the wings. Clueless kids a,re easier to manipulate.

Deeply love the line "control what I want" when we know her girlfriend intends to break up with her. That is some top-tier dramatic irony with potential foreshadowing of the breakup going real bad.

I knew something like this would happen when the art shifted in the last panel of the previous page. (I love art shift pages.) You can tell Tom really threw everything he had into this page, and that he'd been planning this specific page for a long time. Possibly years. Maybe this was even one of the scenes he'd been planning from the beginning of the entire comic.

If she's turning into the robots' god through their beliefs, their beliefs may shape who she is. And the robots believe she's the type who sacrifices people. www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1294 (lazy link because I don't want to use HTML on mobile) Tom ended up changing the art on this page.

"Teleport what I want" and "Control what I want"? What about "whom" I want (Paz)? I'm not sure that Kat would actually go there, but she is going too far.

This is a worrying amount of casual power to wield and humans tend to convince themselves of things a bit easily in this manner. I should note that according to the Agatha Hetrodyne books that is a rewrite of the comic, the "music" is the Hetrodying generating the inverse soundwaves of her surrounding environment so that they cancel out and lets them focus without distraction. I forget the exact wording, but it's followed by the line "the more you think about it, the creepier it gets"
