So I gather that Kat will have to tell them where it is and how to get to it. Maybe. Then again, she got a remote on her. Which she cannot use. I wonder if she has security measures that she's forgotten about (after all, she never has to visit it, and even when she does, her security devices let her through just fine) that will trip them up on the way and will require Kat to activate, say, a bunch of dormant robot bodies without CPUs to help them out. Or that. |

Tom's note is just twisting the knife.  Tony had a fairly modern looking PC for his weather spreadsheets. Kat's just an incurable retro gaming nerd. The family computer we had in the 90s looked exactly like this one, except we never had a webcam. (I did get a little microphone like that, but not until the following decade.) |

My guess is Zimmy "is killed" when they "restart" the "computer". As in: Zimmy is interconnected with Omega in such a way that restarting it nullifies her existence. Maybe Gamma is Omega and restarting causes her to "fall unconcious" and Zimmy loses control completely. Or maybe Zimmy and Omega are just straight up the same thing. I dunno. I just got a feeling. Sorry if baseless speculation like this ain't cool, I rarely come to the forums. Baseless speculation like this is definitely cool. We do a fair amount of it on these page-specific threads, and it also has its own dedicated thread. On the occasions when the speculation turns out to have been right, we celebrate with imaginary cookies.  |

Speaking of which... So what do? If Kat can't solve the problem herself things Antimony and/or Paz could do that might help include degaussing Kat (for which they probably have a tool nearby, or if not then any old CRT monitor or tv will do), putting Kat in a faraday cage that they'd have to find or construct, turning off or resetting her previous computer, questing to find the new computer's hidden location through a bunch of traps and tests to do something there, asking the robots for help, or dare I say asking Kat's mother for help (haha, j/k on that last one). The quest for the new computer would probably be the most exciting possibility, as Kat has no doubt hidden it in a secret facility designed to defeat intruders with video-game style challenges among other things, but I think I'd prefer to observe Paz and Antimony construct the faraday cage or otherwise work together for a decent amount of time and interact with limited or no input from Kat. Feels like it might get quite tricky for Annie and Paz to privately inform anyone of their concerns, seeing as Kat could ostensibly tap into any camera or audio-receiving device at will, and will undoubtedly improve her reach on a steep curve. At least the ether is safe  Ah yes, a friend who's a panopticon. What could go wrong? Nothing! Speculate again and I'll see if anything changes. But seriously, Annie doesn't spy on people most of the time. (AFAIK, anyway.) Why would Kat? |
