PT was a free demo for a potential sequel to Silent Hill, it was universally loved and seen as a "return to form" for Silent Hill.

Then the same guy who made the demo made Metal Gear Survive, which was dull and paint-by-numbers.

Also, the Silent Hill sequel never came, cause the guy got fired. And even worse, the studio decided to delete the demo so it cannot be downloaded (legally) anymore

Two observations:

• Kojima was not fired. He and Konami came to a mutual decision to end their contract, which happened in mid-2015.
• Metal Gear Survive, was released in February 2018, and it has been stated by various sources that it was developed without Kojima's input and involvelment of any kind (a series first since 1990's Snake's Revenge for the NES).

kojima has stated publicly that if he would never have put zombies in a metal gear game. or rather, he stated publicly that "zombies don't really seem 100% metal gear to me..." which for a japanese person is a pretty scathing thing to say out loud in front of an audience of like 100 journalists.

thats a very succint way of putting things since that "mutual decision" involved a a great deal of disrespect and passive-ggressive mistreatment towards kojima to make him eventually agree. Otherwise yes, Kojima was not involved with survive and its a travestry that MGS5's wonderfully modular and dynamic engine was used to create such trash.
