Chapter 87 will begin on the Eve of All Hallows, eh? That bodes well for our heroes.

I thought at first that I was vindicated in my wildspec that the Tea pages are taking place after the conclusion of the events of the Court, and that Tea and her friend are (in some of the pages) exploring the ruins of the Court, because this looked so much like the trains that have featured prominently in this chapter and previous ones - but there do seem to be some key differences between this structure and the trains in the main comic. Not sure if those differences can be chalked up to the 'trimmings' being gone and higher level of detail in the Tea pages though - mainly I'm looking at the bars between the windows which are not present in the train Annie and the gang were just on.

So, my curiosity got the better of me tonight and I decided to hunt down all of the bonus Tea pages so that I could look at them in-order again. I thought others might be interested in seeing them, too.
This doesn't include her small cameos or exposition pages--just the break announcement pages.
I came out of lurk mode to post this. You're welcome.

This looks very much like the wrecked interior of a DC-8. Not quite exact though. Looks to be a very late 50s - early 60s airframe.
Interesting.
Edit: After looking around at aircraft freighter conversions (which this appears to be) it could even be something considerably more modern, like a 737.
But modern aircraft normally have their airframes painted yellow or green as a corrosion inhibitor, and this one doesn't appear to.
It's probably just a generic crashed aircraft.

That is not a train, it's a freighter airplane (or a former passenger airplane converted to freighter). Source: Worked in aircraft maintenance for years and was specialized on the MD-11 freighter version.

Huh, starting with p1167 and with the only exception of p2053, she's getting all beaten up. I wonder what it means.

Tea seems to have a map with large portions (including a small town/city, judging from the outline and the roads connecting) that are cross-hatched out. A forbidden zone? Desolated by war, chem/bio contamination, radiation?

Tea's a good egg. I hope she and her friend take care.
Interesting map.

I'd be happy with more City Face. How are the pigeons doing through all of the Loup hijinks?

Oh, the announced announcement is just for the usual 2 weeks break, thank the gods! I thought it'd be something serious and devastating, like "The next book will be the last" or something like that.

More post-apocalyptic scenes... It doesn't bode well for the inhabitants left behind in the Court...

Desolated by war, chem/bio contamination, radiation? “Already checked”? Warlord Face should be at least a raven. Ravens tend to be more solitary. If we're looking for a British bird that hangs around human settlements and forms permanent groupings, yet is a raptor, you can do no better than rooks, which are like smaller ravens. This is fun... There's a rookery I'm familiar with that congregates in the large shopping center behind the McDonald's in Sligo Town. I used to park up there and throw them little bits of my meal and watch them (they got to know my car, heh). The band is headed by an older female with an injured leg who I call "Grainne", after the pirate queen. Other rooks sometimes bring her food (or she makes them drop theirs so she can take it) and she seems to be the one who usually decides when and where to fly to as a group when they are alarmed. A larger male seems to be her mate and second-in-command. Two ravens are commonly seen mingling with the group, along with four or five random jackdaws at any given time (ravens and jackdaws would not normally be seen together, but rooks are gregarious and enforce a truce). The roster is rounded out by a seagull who is clearly a member of the permanent group - he is always present and participates in the chasing after bits of food. I even saw him giving a bit to the leader rook once.

After the previous couple chapters, I'm inclined to speculate that Tea and her friend are actually exploring the post-apocalyptic wastes of the new planet that everyone else traveled to on the star ocean.

If we're looking for a British bird that hangs around human settlements and forms permanent groupings, yet is a raptor, you can do no better than rooks, which are like smaller ravens. Right, rook, of course. If birds that live in England, but not native count, you could do better — a Harris’s hawk. Despite being hawks, they are social animals as much as wolves are. Bonus: a weird connection specifically with pigeons! The rust-hawks are smart enough to learn non-trivial activity, like herding prey species without actually attacking, then perform reliably and autonomously (without micromanagement by handler). They also aren’t distracted by noise too much. Thus not so long ago falconers found a fun niche for them: patrol stadiums and chase pigeons away, so that pigeon poop does not rain on the crowd, but is not replaced with rain of bloodied feathers and bird heads. A quick search even without following links returns Wimbledon, Roland-Garros tennis stadium, Cape Town stadium, Kingspan stadium and Spotland stadium.

And there's that linguistic link through "hawk", too. 🙂
