The shouts are the kids looking for Janet (I assume she's not invited) I was thinking along those lines, but it could be someone noticing her in a "is that you? what are you doing?" situation. Also that it might be Headmaster, I suspect him or Vegeta. |

In the first page of the chapter, we see Kat walking down the streets of the Court at night. She sees a few other people, the moonlit ocean in the distance. There is a zoomed-out image of a pier or jetty jutting out into the ocean; something is out on the end of it, but we can't really see what, and people are gathering and moving toward the jetty. We then see Kat walking behind two people we don't know, who seem not to know what this is about. Then, from out of the frame, someone is calling out Janet's name. The page ends before we confirm whether this is the Janet we know of or discover who is speaking, but Kat is looking in the speaker's direction. This appears to be a flashback to Kat's experiences after leaving Annie in the previous chapter to go to the meeting. These events would be taking place at the same time Parley is bringing Annie and Renard to where Loup is confronting James and the events that happen there. |

If Kat meets up with some of others, why weren't they with her, at the end of the last chapter? I don't think that bodes well.

So, this chapter pretty much has to end with Kat taking a dip in the Isn't An Ocean. Or at least, if it doesn't end there, it has to lead up to it, or continue on from there.
We just have to add the words, "So I suppose you're wondering how I got here" to the last (non bonus) page to complete the circle.
Or, if you still remember him, maybe Paul Harvey announcing, "And now you know The REST of the Story" at the end.

The shouts are the kids looking for Janet (I assume she's not invited) Taking into consideration this is a flashback that we know ends with everyone walking into the "not an ocean," to me it feels more like someone shocked/surprised at what Janet's doing. First questioning "Janet?", followed by concern "Janet!" I think there's a good possibility she's started walking into the ocean, and is probably the first to do so. Doesn't Janet have like arrow-shootin mad accuracy powers or am I misremembering. Yeah she do.Even if that's an etheric power, I can't see her being left behind with her father being both the headmaster and head of the Shadow Men. I doubt anyone would want to risk objecting to her coming along, lest they get left behind out of spite. |
