Yay for chapter starting. Glad to see Shadow2 again.
Trust Kat to take all the magic out of him. ^.^
Kat in a lab coat: [Sarcasm]the[/sarcasm] awesome.
Hey, maybe think about it before you edit someones post? Better idea! Don't put it in the word filter!

Oh, I don't know... An essentially 2-dimensional creature still sounds pretty magical to me.
It's good to see Kat again. But doesn't Annie look like she came rushing from somewhere?
Edit: Kat looks so cute in panel 2!

Well, there were two-dimensional creatures in Star Trek...<.< Also, Annie's probably worried that Shadow 2 might be seen since...well she did say that Shadow 2 could come with her if he hid so I guess he's supposed to be hidden. Or something.

Once again, irrefutable proof that lab coat=science!
I have not always been a friend of science, but for Kat I think maybe I would make the effort. Or at the very least flash her the the thumbs up whenever she did something awesome. When it comes to awesomeness, I'm an equal-opportunity promoter.

Go Kat!
Hmmm... I wonder what Shadow2 would sound like on tinfoil.

Annie should punch science in the face so that faerie magic governs the universe once more.

Go Kat! Hmmm... I wonder what Shadow2 would sound like on tinfoil. Possibly like a conspiracy theorist trying to hide his brain waves, or maybe like a lunar lander.

I envision it to be more like the sound of rain on the roof of a treehouse, but perhaps these things are subjective. The real question is what he would sound like on Jello.

It was a pleasant surprise to see Shadow2 again.
I'd had a half-speculation that we'd see Kat in a lab coat at some point in this chapter, but I hadn't expected it to be on the very first page!

"Any sufficiently weird science is indistinguishable from magic." Hahaha, love that one (the first comment). The page has a worrying lack of robots, I note. Well, it was "mainly" about robots. Bring on our plastic pals from Japan, I say!

Did someone else modify your post?? That would not be cool... Note to anyone who doesn't get "the" - look it up in Wikipedia. It's silly, but common usage these days.

I would agree that Annie looks agitated when she comes in. She slammed the door, and she does not speak throughout the rest of the page, like she's waiting until Kat's finished to tell her something.
Although if it were something really important, she probably wouldn't have waited.

Did someone else modify your post?? That would not be cool... I sorta remember his post read "the awesome" way earlier this morning. The new version sounds more like Aspen criticising himself after a re-read. I doubt anyone stole Aspen's ID. Who else but Aspen would have inserted [sarcasm] tags, even sarcastically? I imagine he didn't run the spell checker earlier and didn't notice his "emabarassing" mispell. The "edit someone's post" bit sounds like Aspen talking about himself in aside. The "word filter" bit sounds like he's entertaining the idea that he really did spell check, but the checker double crossed him. What's hardest to understand is why Aspen would be upset by "the". The original post was much more understandable than the current complicated stage play. Maybe it occured to him that he doesn't follow the advice of his own sig. He often doesn't. But I think we all got used to that little irony a while back. Its no big deal Aspen. Really.

...but back to the story...
Science says!
Kat: "see, it turns out he isn't really a shadow at all"
But this answer brings only more questions: So why do the not-shadow people die and disperse when they are not "rooted" in real shadows? They obviously can survive real light, even the bright light of the bridge. But as soon as they loose their connection to any real shadow they die a horrible withering death. Like "Shadow 3" did.
Maybe they live off of "shadow energy", something similar to "dark energy"? I used the term "rooted" intentionally above. Maybe the not-shadows are like plants: they need roots in an appropriate soil. I wonder how the wooden arm survived while it was sewn into Robot?
P.S. will Bill Nye The Science Guy ever make a guest appearance in GC? He'd be great!!! Perfect fit.

Although if it were something really important, she probably wouldn't have waited. She does look decidedly shifty, something unusual for Annie, though she's very cute in panel 4. Layers of dark sound cool.

The real question is what he would sound like on Jello. This has made my day. Just thought I'd share. So I'm loving Kat's lab coat here. Science is win!

Yes! 'Science is win!' Kat reminds me of me mum, all science-y in that lab coat.

I'd wondered what Annie was so concerned about myself. I also doubt that it involved anything life-threatening (such as, say, a robot rebellion) since she took the time to listen to what Kat had to say about Shadow2. Maybe she discovered something about Robot's fate, or the existence of more disassembled robots?

Oh man, I was wondering what happened to our little shoeshadow. Kat's made a new friend :3 She looks so infinitely cute in panel 2. But Annie's definitely got something to say. Awaiting Monday! "the" is played out, anyway. It began life as a humble typo, and now it should return to its roots.
Still, I guess it is unnecessarily embarassing for a person to be hit with a giant "I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SPELL" just for using a dumb lil' thing like that.

P.S. will Bill Nye The Science Guy ever make a guest appearance in GC? He'd be great!!! Perfect fit. If he ever were to make an appearance, I see him getting about three words in edgewise before Dr. Disaster bursts into the room and flattens him with his scooter. This comic's only big enough for one lab-coated, bow-tied gent of questionable scientific integrity, thanks.

You can tell Kat is a smart one because she's wearing a white coat.
