It's "Loup!" And he's looking mighty humanoid... And he brought Renard's original body! Will it be a hostage or is it about to become an example?

If Loup doesn't actually destroy the body, I predict Renard being eventually (maybe not this chapter) restored and discovering that Coyote left behind a little surprise inside the body...

Loup taking on a buff humanoid furry-adjacent form in the apparent hope of impressing Annie is equal parts hilarious and creepy.

Also what's stopping Rey trying to body jump through Loup's eyes since he's less aware of things that Coyote and probably don't got a back up back up plan

When I read the comic, I usually mentally imagine Ysengrin with a Worf-like voice, and Coyote is more like "Him" (half sweet, half menacing) from the Powerpuff Girls.
Loup here is trying to be more like Ysengrin than Coyote, and yet the voice is definitely "menacing, angry Him."

I assume the same is valid for Loup.

It's weird that Loup is just floating there

Also what's stopping Rey trying to body jump through Loup's eyes since he's less aware of things that Coyote and probably don't got a back up back up plan Yeah, as pointed above, it'd most likely backfire. Word of Tom says that power wouldn't work on Coyote, so it probably won't work on Loup either. Edit: Ninja'd again.

The “ I know you don’t like being tricked” line combined with Annie’s shocked reaction face suggests that maybe Annie and Reynard have indeed guessed the truth about Jerrek, even if they may not have made it public knowledge.

Loup just means their plan with Kat's arrows, and Annie is probably just making that face because she didn't expect it to result into this (whatever this is), and probably a bit of embarrassment because Eglamore now finds out about that plan. At least that's what it seems to me. Edit: wait, “I know you don’t like being tricked”? That's not the line at all, quite the opposite, it's "I don't appreciate being tricked".

If Loup destroys Renard's original fox body, will Renard die? I'm guessing not based on Coyote "taking care" of the delicious jackalope body that one time...
This is going in a bad direction but at least it's not a trick by the Court to get Annie and Renard out of the way of their Katnapping.
On the other hand, I could have gone a really long time without seeing Loup in his really disturbing Form of Buffness. Even though the plot with Jerrek has been interesting, I'm back to looking forward to the demise of the unstable and unpleasant Loup.

Disturbing thought - Renard's power (granted by Coyote so long ago) let's him take any form with eyes. If he were to take Loup's body, would he get the power along with it? Don't remember this question ever coming up.

Yes, I think you are right! It's still creepy though.
I don't get what he's going for. Outside of the ether, Ysengrin pretty much looked either like an old wolf with the fur worn off by his tree suit, or like a wolf in a tree suit. Coyote looked kind of like a colorful cartoon coyote, much the same inside the ether and out, though pretty fluid and distorted at times.
Loup usually looks like a wolf with some of Coyote's color scheme, and one of Coyote's ears sticking through where his own was missing. I don't get what look he's going for now but it's creepy.
The only time we've seen Coyote manifest an arm anything like what Loup is showing was here. If Ysengrin saw that, we've never been told about it. Ysengrin's tree suit arms had a similar silhouette but were much more botanical.

Oops, I think I missed the previous page or possibly the previous two! Short version of my impressions: with Parley suddenly appearing just after Kat left for her meeting, I suspected that this was a ploy of the Court to distract Annie and Renard so they wouldn't be spying on the meeting or trying to affect its outcome. Parley wouldn't necessarily have been in on it – she might have thought there was a real emergency. She can be fooled. But then, when she said that Loup's finally shown himself, I suspected that this may actually have been a ploy of Loup, and this may not have been Parley but an illusion. Parley's doing this in multiple bips, though, so that would be very realistic of Loup, keeping Parley's limited teleport range in mind. Then there's today. We see Loup hovering in the air, in a more anthropomorphic form than we've usually seen him in. There's some sort of fire below, in the distance, a plume of smoke rising far into the air from it. And James is to the right of where Parley ports in with Annie and Renard, so that must be the "we" in "we need your help" – Parley and James may have been doing patrols in the ruins when Loup appeared and demanded to see Annie and Renard. The distant fire may have something to do with this demand. Loup says he doesn't appreciate being tricked, doubtless referring to Renard's leading him into Kat's trap earlier. Of course, he wasn't really tricked, as he knew exactly what to expect, but he's keeping up the façade. James asks Annie what he's talking about – so he didn't know about that little plan. And then Loup brings forth Chekhov's gun – or fox body – which we've seen multiple times in the past. We knew Loup had Renard's original body somewhere and wanted to use it as leverage against Renard. But what will he do with it? Will he threaten to destroy it unless Annie and Renard surrender the things he wants, namely the possession power and the tooth/knife? Or will he do something else? And is it really Renard's body or just an illusion – or the body of an ordinary fox? In this final frame, now that we get a closer look at him, Loup looks a lot like Ysengrin in shape, with the broad shoulders and tree-branch arms and fingers. That's certainly by design.

Ysengrin's tree suit arms had a similar silhouette but were much more botanical. Due to Coyotes power to have all powers if he chooses there is no such thing as in the ether and out of it. As he can do things people do in the ether with just as much ease outside of it
