Renard is really blazing through the "You in danger, girl" BINGO board.
That's that Junji Ito/fisheye lens stare, and it bodes well for no one.

Kat still being totally cool with being called "Angel". Personally I find it even weirder now that it's a (mostly) human who says it.

It's still not clear if Lana is blushing for Jarrek, or for Annie. By the way, this whole event marks the first time Kat has actually been in front of Coyote/Loup (not counting the Jarrek persona)... yet she's totally "for me, it's tuesday". Personally I find it even weirder not that it's a (mostly) human who says it. +1 I increasingly hope Lana isn't Loup Oh! She is Loup too!

It would seem Lana is trying to catch her own prey. That is how you all describe a crush, right?

Thinking about the title and title cover image of this chapter, and how it could apply to this situation. Maybe the arrows are cupid's arrows? "The snare is meant for Jerrek" theory is still in play; it's just that the objective has changed. Now it's Lana Loup looking to snare Jerrek Loup. Or else Annie and/or Kat deliberately brought those two out here. For reasons beyond feeling the Earth move. *meme shrug*

Oh, well that actually does kinda explain why Lana and Jerrek, specifically, were there. Using the earth movers for something complicated like that shelter is a skill, one which only the New People have really practiced! So I presume they asked for a couple of volunteers from among those working on robot recovery, and Lana and Jerrek were the ones who got picked (and/or, you know, it's because Lana and Jerrek are the only ones they're kinda friends with).

After remarking that the last frame of the previous page is mostly vaguely-drawn background and predicting that the first frame on this page would feature Jerrek saying something, taking up more of the frame, I am apparently wrong. It appears that their hiding place was produced using Kat's earth-moving gadgets, as Jerrek and Lana quickly dismantle it once they all leave. And perhaps that's why Annie and Kat brought Jerrek and Lana – they've been doing a lot in the ruins area and know it well, and they've been getting lots of practice with the gadgets. Some time has passed, since Lana says the New People have found about 50 robots since they started using the gadgets.
Lana then looks at Jerrek. Jerrek, in turn, is looking at Annie and Renard's easy relationship and doesn't even notice Lana looking at him. Lana feels bad, and may feel bad that she feels bad.
It's looking to me that Lana is feeling something for Jerrek, possibly spurred by his earlier concern for her well-being – that upset her at first, but perhaps she realized over time that he was trying to protect her. But now Jerrek doesn't seem to even notice her. It's also looking to me that Jerrek/Loup is also feeling jealousy – toward Renard, about how much Annie trusts him and how close they have become.

What Lana thinks Jerrek's thoughts are: Annie is so pretty I want to go on human dates with her What Jerrek's actual thoughts might be: killing and maiming and violence

I'm still awaiting for an explanation why the NP were involved in this. I expect the girls would be more careful after all that business with Jeanne, Ayilu and Smith.

I mean Annie said before that she is hesitant to involve people working actively with the Court. It's probably just that. The danger aspect may also be why she is working with them, do we know that the New People are mortal and can't change bodies? I assume they are, but I definitively think it's an assumption.

They may have been hanging around Antimony and Kat during the planning phase and volunteered when the construction of a blind was mentioned. Kat does ask if everyone is ready so maybe they had an additional role that involved the digging and shaping tools once "Loup" was successfully captured but I'm having trouble guessing what that would be. Maybe the tools have been modified to have other features... But yeah... Might have been unimportant to the plot but with that planning conversation omitted this humble reader is left wondering if Antimony learned anything from Smitface's puncturing and her future indentured servitude, or if perhaps she learned the wrong lesson and thinks that the Noobmens can just be fixed if broken, like Smitty got repaired. Awl's well that, ends well?

I don't know about the in-story reason, but from a storytelling point of view, they're: a) Loup in disguise, making him an important figure that we'll want to keep track of and b) a new character who needs the opportunity for full introduction and development.

By The Way: We currently have a dangerous constellation of characters. There's four MCs, one of which has to learn why he has to die, and one new-ish woobie-foil who may not count as a "real" person for casualty-tallying purposes and is potentially developing interest in aforementioned MC.

I'm surprised more aren't focusing on the love triangle! What did Robot say when he was explaining jealousy to Lana? Other than something was wrong with her! Or was that not canon? What happens if someone notices Jerrek watching Annie, or Lana blushing? Best guess: Renard has noticed both, but doesn't feel like he needs to say anything (beyond his earlier comment about Annie having a fan).
Loup/Jerrek is totally self-centered and obsessed with Annie. Won't notice Lana until forced.
Annie has been told that Jerrek likes her, and she has to have noticed how he was when they talked, what with the hand panic and such. She even likes him, at least a bit, as he reminds her of Ysengrin for reasons she can't quite figure out. As for the rest, I doubt if she is paying any attention to Lana other than as a casual acquaintance. Kat isn't really very attentive to relationships, other than her own with Paz. In fact, a case could be made that she doesn't actually pay that much attention to that either. I expect we'll see Paz complaining about being neglected or something along those lines soon. But as for Annie/Jerrek/Lana? Naw, she hasn't noticed.
Lana noticed Jerrek watching Annie and is jealous. But who will she ask for advice? I suspect Robot may not be on top of her list for that, especially after the "something wrong with you" thing!
So... what happens next? I have to think the next move is up to Lana, whatever it is. If she had more self confidence, I'd guess she would approach Annie or Jerrek about it, but as is? Just don't know. I have to think it's more likely that someone else will notice and say something than that she will stand up for herself. On the bright side, none of the main characters has any reason to be mad at or dislike Lana, so she's probably more or less safe from Bad Things happening. *cue ominous music*

We haven't actually seen Loup do anything specifically to do with the "must die" thing. Unless his hiding in the court and spying is it so far? Could be, but he seems a lot more interested in Annie than in his upcoming demise.
I'm really wondering if he has accepted that he needs to die. He isn't exactly mature and philosophical, as such, and I seem to recall him saying he really wants to live a while back. So... if he finds out the rest of Coyote's plan, will he really calmly accept that it is a good plan and he must die, and roll over for it? I am skeptical.

It would take something really horrible happening, something that the mercurial, moody and carelessly-violent "Loup" would greatly regret in hindsight, something with such dire consequences that whatever he might have wanted to do in the future would become impossible (like making Antimony genuinely hate him) to make him genuinely want to die, wouldn't it?

I don't see it It comes from Coyote's story in which Coyote not only "was" a dead goose in a lake, but "was" also said lake AND FORGOT ABOUT IT. I fully expect another character/object/whatever being Loup and Loup having forgotten about it. Lana acts innocent enough that I could see her being an absent-minded Loup.

Well said. "And then you will die." Coyote said. "Then" usually implies that one will happen a relatively short time after the other. But from the perspective of a God who put the stars into the sky, what is a short time?

On the bright side, none of the main characters has any reason to be mad at or dislike Lana, so she's probably more or less safe from Bad Things happening. *cue ominous music* I suspect one of the keys here is that, as of the latest page (specifically, that last panel), Kat finally HAS noticed about Jerrek at least, and looks like she's about to say something about it to Annie and/or Renard. It's at least a little possible she might vaguely suspect something about Lana's feelings towards Jerrek too, simply because while Lana isn't being too obvious about it, she does seem to be somewhat attached at the hip to Jerrek these days, and Kat probably spends a decent amount of time interacting with the NP (more than Annie, anyway).
I'm not sure where you got the idea that Kat doesn't pay much attention to other people's relationships, to be honest? I've always had the impression that she's quite attentive, in that she cares a lot about other people's love lives and thinks a lot of things are So Very Romantic, but she's just not very wise or good at looking beyond the surface of stuff. Like, off the top of my head, there was that whole thing where she decided Winsbury had a crush on Annie, and immediately threw herself into playing matchmaker? And she was better than Annie at noticing when it was time to leave Parley and Smitty alone together that one time.
Honestly though, I think if Kat does talk to Annie about Jerrek, it's not really going to change all that much? Annie knows full well that Jerrek (or rather "Jerrek") has a crush on her, and is being perfectly sensible and mature about it, IMHO. And if Kat has noticed something about Lana...hm. I'll go ahead and predict that Annie might tentatively mention it to Jerrek next time they talk, and also ask Kat to talk to Lana for her and see if there's any way to avoid a lot of trouble or heartbreak here.
Of course, this is all basically ignoring that fact that Jerrek is actually Loup, and only using this "crush" as an excuse to get closer to his enemies unnoticed (or at least that's what he's telling himself)! No idea how or when that's going to blow up in people's faces, but it IS going to happen, almost definitely.
