Hah, and here we see Renard's talent for winding up Ysengrin hard at work. The classic Renard-Ysengrin tales always relied on Renard tricking Ysengrin into doing something stupid, here we see him trying again, wondering if it will work as well with Loup.

Random thought but what in heck did Loup do with Renard's fox body, I'm picturing it all wedged up in the dirt somewhere.

I'd imagine that getting to see it again would be a bit "Temptation of Christ" for Renard – he'd pass, but it'd hurt him, especially if it got destroyed (a bit of bittersweetness, since he once said that the mind was the plaything of the body, IIRC).

So that must have been area effect? Rey may simply offer to give the power back. I'm thinking that's the main reason Loup is attacking him, in spite of Ysengrin folklore.

also possibly high CHA, since he seems to be goading Loup into showing himself and attacking.

So in the previous page, Renard claimed that Loup had done nothing, at which Loup looked at the ruination about them, which he'd caused, and asked whether it was nothing. Renard now replies that Loup has made a bit of a mess, but nothing really significant, and accuses Loup of wasting the power Coyote gave him. Loup seems a bit irritated at this and attacks Renard with a giant bite, which Renard seems to calmly hop out of the way of, but Renard has clearly gotten to him.
What's Renard doing? Needling Loup can be risky. I doubt he'd be taking this risk if he didn't hope to gain something worth that risk. He's not here to play around, so what's he really here to do? Is he trying to get information from Loup about what he's up to, or what Coyote said to him? Or is this a distraction?

If I remember right, the main problem Ysengrin had with Renard is that Renard kept tricking him. Like in the bonus comic, we first met Ysengrin with his tail frozen into a lake, for example. It seems likely that we're seeing that dynamic in action here!
What I don't get is what Renard's plan is.
Step 1: Piss off Loup Step 2: ? ? ? Step 3: Profit!

Is it wrong to hope we'll get to see Jerrek do the same thing? Huge mouth, trying to chomp someone...

Going back to check on those fancomics of mine reveals that photobucket has, presumably in an effort to save space and width, resized my fancomics down to illegibility. I think I archived both GC Thug and It's Ms. Jones; I'll repost the fancomics in original size on the Fanart thread as attachments shortly, I guess it was time to release a collector's edition anyway.
