Renard searches for "Loup" by walking around yelling his name, I guess.

Okay, so maybe the gang has a plan to deal with Loup. Not feeling confident the gang has a plan to find Loup.
Edit: I mean a good plan, yelling at small mammals is a plan.

"Polo"
When I first read that, I thought the wood was moving, then going limp when Rey arrived. I think Tom would specifically show it moving, though.

If Loup is not around in Gillitie, this might be a golden opportunity for Renard to check up on his original body, which might be super important later on.

Loup could even be monitoring Renard at this very moment by looking thru the animal's eyes.... who do seem to be watching rather intently (last panel). Of course, he is a carnivore who speaks like a human, which many forest animals would naturally find strange and worth keeping an eye or two on....

The chapter opens with a view of the ruins of the Forest. We then see Renard walking about, looking around. There are some animals visible as he shouts Loup's name, getting the animals' attention.
Although the Forest has had some talking animals and other magical creatures in the past, these appear to just be ordinary animals. I'm not sure we can draw any conclusions from this, other than the fact that obviously some animals managed to survive Loup's wave.
It would appear that Renard is searching for Loup. I'm not sure why shouting his name is a good idea – wouldn't he notice Renard's presence whether or not Renard did so?

Animals thinking, "Hmm, that is a funny noise for a wolf". They must not know that Reynardine is a fox, and that Loup has taken the form of "Jerek".

Damn, I thought of this earlier but was too lazy. Serves me right you are reaping the glory now instead.😉
It would appear that Renard is searching for Loup. I'm not sure why shouting his name is a good idea – wouldn't he notice Renard's presence whether or not Renard did so? Perhaps he means to challenge Loup or similar. As in "I know you are hiding here somewhere!"

First thought: Yiss, finally some focus on Rey!
Second thought: Wait, the chapter title is "Snare". RUN, RENARD! RUN AWAY FROM THIS CHAPTER!

Ok, just standing on a hill looking out over the remains of the forest and yelling "Loup" probably won't work, but if Loup were just waiting around for someone to come looking for him, maybe it could? I mean, WE know where Loup is, but Renard doesn't, and everyone would feel really dumb if they found him later and he said "Why didn't you just call me?". Also, Renard: Lassie he ain't.

Also, Renard: Lassie he ain't. But that's okay, since Timmy didn't fall down the well again.
