Man, I hope Lana is into Annie instead of Loup. My interpretation is that Lana has off-screen been told what the elf boys likely intended and come to the conclusion that Jerrek actually did do the right thing, and somewhere along the way some rescue romance feelings emerged. Or they were at least realized once she saw Jerrek and Annie holding hands. |

It will get "simpler yet" if we find out that Lana is really coyote in disguise (coyote passed the test after dying so transferred into new body like Red) with feelings for both Annie and Loup.

I missed the previous page, but luckily they take place at nearly the same time anyway.
Annie's point of view: This charming New Person, Jerrek, has some interesting insights into that Omega thing. He wants to talk to her again and probably has a crush on her. He's adorably awkward. But now it's time for her to meet up with Renard and Kat.
Loup's point of view: The disguise he's taken on is requiring him to act like a lovestruck fool in order to keep up appearances. But Loup can console himself by thinking about how clever he's being to get information out of Annie. Yes, yes, that's exactly why he's doing it. There's absolutely no other reason why he wants to get close to Annie. No other reason whatever.
Lana's point of view: She knew all about humans and what boys like from reading all those books. She took pride in knowing all of this. It's what she based her form on. She was annoyed at Jerrek for intervening earlier, because it implied that she didn't really know everything, even though she now probably suspects he was right. But now – Jerrek's already getting closer to a human than she's gotten, despite all her knowledge, and what's more, that human is Annie, the Annie, Kat's friend, whom Lana herself introduced him to. Lana may well be feeling rather bad about herself and her choices.
And ... end of chapter. Bonus page soon, then perhaps the title page of the next chapter!

«This should make things simpler.» 😂 Man, I hope Lana is into Annie instead of Loup. Who knows. But it's not the final topology either way. Wait for another pass. My guess: since almost everyone is away, this will be an elf boy who couldn't move on and forget and now has a guilty little crush on Lana, but is afraid of approaching (for reasons not limited to, but definitely including Loup). Then again, if Jack returned only to be stuck on the crazy crush graph would be more hilarious (and would «make things simpler», too). However unlikely. It's your classic tale. God-wolf-boy meets firehead-psychopomp-girl, humanoid robot meets god-wolf-boy, firehead-psychopomp-girl meets humanoid robot, aetheric teenage drama ensues. Mark my words: at some point in the future, the fact that New People have no fingernails will be a critical plot point. Not quite sure how. Perhaps a new character will be introduced and we won't see their hands for a while, we'll all think they're human, but then there will be a reveal panel. Or, an NP will need to scratch something and be unable to. Or one will try to chew their nails and accidentally bite their finger off. Or something I haven't thought of.
