Is Kat rounding the corner to something Seed Bismuth-adjacent?
So much for ignoring Kat, huh, Loup?

She's not making something out of nothing, she's using the dirt/forest/building mixture of Loup's attack, together with a doodad, to zippydidoodah zippydiday and I don't know where I was going with that.

Guess she did go to work on those samples she took. Edit: Given that bottom-left panel looks like she's just making regular shapes as a test.... Is she trying to make somewhere more like home for the tree elves to live?

Loup's mind, about to be blown? Not so. On my headcanon, Loup will find it annoying that he has been asked to look at "simple woodmending". "even the forest children can do that kind of things! Pbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbtbt"

Kat doing artificially what the tree elves can do naturally. This makes me wonder, is it the nature of this wood specifically that makes it susceptible to etheric manipulation? And can the tree elves only manipulate the wood from Gillitie or can they go to any forest and manipulate the wood?

And the barren Court rebirthed the Forest: seed-bearing plants according to their kinds and trees bearing the might of the old woods. And the Angel saw that it was good.

On second viewing the background building shapes interrupted by etheric tech in panel #5 look like two faces yelling at each other. Then in the last panel it looks like they're playing extreme tonsil hockey. I wonder if that's foreshadowing an end to the bad feelings and a new weird direction for things.

Definitely no elf.

Is that ether that is dripping upwards? Has Kat built some hybrid ether-tech device that allows her to make ... trees? She's pressing a green button - may be nothing, but green for "make plants" or maybe "apply green arrow tech" (could also just be green = go)? Interested to see where this goes....

Just Kat casually mimicking Ysengrin/Loup and the tree elves powers, nothing really special about it

Side note - it's night. For sure. We saw the full moon on the previous page. So that verifies that the elf gang (well, clump of bored boys maybe) was roaming around at dusk or just after dark - prime time for mischief. It also means that here, when Lana says Jerrek is out early, that it was just after sunset. So... the NP are on a nocturnal schedule? Kinda makes sense if they are trying to keep out of easy view of the court!
So here, just before that, Loup was looking at the sun setting as he thought his deep thoughts.
I know this isn't really anything to do with Kat's Weird Science, but I've been trying to figure out when we are. Clearly in present time but the rest was confusing. On the other hand, Loup has been Jerrek for way more than a day - check out the phase of the moon here! So he's been holding his form pretty well for... 2 weeks or so? Long enough for the moon to go from "waning crescent" to "full" at any rate.
Also, again looking at the moon, from here to here wasn't very long - probably the same night, which is consistent with what went on.
Oh, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Kat creates, of course. Miracle Machine FTW!

I wonder whether these Kat-trees are actually alive, rather than just rearranged dead ironwood.

I'm genuinely uncertain how Loup will react to a full display of Technomacy. He is already in a mood, but Loups behavior switches between a variation of Coyete whimsy and Ysengrin anger pretty freely and its difficult to predict which will come out at any given situation.

Is Kat manipulating Loup's forest-stuff...? As in. mimicking Loup's power...?

Is Kat manipulating Loup's forest-stuff...? As in. mimicking Loup's power...? Maybe? If she is specifically controlling wood with her machine, then she's encroaching on Ysengrin's turf. Perhaps that will be enough to wake him up.

I can't stop laughing at the sullen teenage experience Loup gets to enjoy. Maybe that's a manifestation of Coyote's power. Coyote doesn't just shapeshift into the thing, he completely transforms into it to the point of sometimes forgetting who he is. Loup is not used to that power so he might actually lose himself inside Jerrek for a while

In the "Loup Incident", it almost seemed like he literally blew up. Now that we see that the forest and the court buildings are made of the same stuff (Bismuth Goo), them sorta melting together makes a lot more sense. So does this - I guess it was a lot more like a tidal wave than previously thought!
When Loup released all that energy, it basically melted everything around him - or at least attacked its fundamental structure. Cool!
