No offense, but this sounds like a racial slur. xD In the collective plural form "treen", it is, actually, a name for useful objects carved from wood, such as wooden spoons. "Treens" is not a word, but I took it as a novel coining combining "trees" and "teens" and thought it was clever. There's no need at all to say nasty things about it unless you have evidence of malice on the part of the speaker. It is clever. And I wouldn't think that saying something would be offensive to entirely fictional people is particularly nasty?

In addition to the cracks, it almost seems like he has a little blood on his cheeks. Maybe it's just cracks though.
I'm really curious to see what Lana has to say about this!

Well, there are three likely responses for her: "Thank you for rescuing me, Jerrek", "WTF, Jerrek!", and "What just happened?" (Note: None of those are likely to be an exact quote.)
Of those, I think the second one is the most likely - but by a very thin margin.

There's people in this comic with a heart of gold? Not sure, but there's people in this comic with a heart of ceramic.

The Forest elves are called the tree people pretty often by other Forest denizens.
