Once again being physically attractive proves useful in a social situation.

Dialogue next comic if real teens, not comic: "Dunno, we need more evidence." "Still not sure, need more evidence." "I'm starting to think you may be real but I want to see more evidence." "Still lingering doubts... gonna have to see more evidence." This page is a bit creepy. I sorta agree but am not sure who's creeping on who.

Might be in over her head a bit. That's the thing... she might well be in over her head, and probably is in some aspects, but she may well be waaaaaaaaay older than them. She's probably had "the talk" and she's got memories of observing humans and reading books for an unknown period of time before becoming an NP(C?). In this body she may only be a few days old, though. Not sure about the boys but they've probably got some basic knowledge because of good old fashioned country living, and they don't know (probably?) what they're getting into even if they suspect she isn't real so there's issues on both sides. But it isn't like she was Boxbot or anything. Probably. Meanwhile, "Loup" is suppressing the urge to vomit.

Just as well this is Gunnerkrigg Court, because I can see how this whole situation might go horribly wrong in real life...

I guess, I'm not sure why you'd want to be a teenager among adults though if you had the choice, especially when your whole species is brand new and all still learning how to be themselves. But it isn't like she was Boxbot or anything. Probably. Now I almost hope so. If any two characters in this story deserve each other's company, it's Loup and Boxbot.

I'm not sure why you'd want to be a teenager among adults though if you had the choice, especially when your whole species is brand new and all still learning how to be themselves. If she worked in a library she probably associated mostly with kids and adult co-workers, maybe the occasional researcher. If it was the library at the school then lots of kids. If that plus books is your sampling, being a teen girl probably looked like the best option. Of course, the books may have provided a distorted lens. She may be thinking YA fiction offers realistic depictions of teen life which would explain why it's so important that people understand she's cute. Then again, she might have had lots of time and opportunity to surf the interwebs and may have spent so much time getting her custom bod right not for social advantages but for the lulz. But probably not, this isn't that sort of comic. (readies Admiral Ackbar meme just in case)

what physical limits and durability has Kat built into her people? because the scale can be quite high if she allows it.

IMO how coyote might act if he was in Lana's body, eg his early joke about being a male elf romancing Annie in front of Eglamore, while teaching Loup about persuasion rather than force.
Coyote "forgetting who he was goose story" gives idea that Loup will be affected by his new view/body, Loup might have at some level genuinely found Lana attractive when he "blushed" at Lana's flirt game.

But it isn't like she was Boxbot or anything. Probably. gosh golly it would make so much sense if Boxbot became aggressively flirty now that people are actually paying attention to it/her!

This is awkward. I wonder if Loup's wolf nature might show itself, by being possessive of her. That would also be awkward, but not as mush as imagining these elves standing behind a white couch.

Ew, ew ew ew. As user nineGardens said in the page's comment section (this is not their full comment), I really empathize with Lana here. I think a lot of people have been in this kind of situation before; either treated with the same respect you'd give to an object, or invalidated and put out of place. She doesn't seem too bothered by it yet, but invalidation really stings, and there's no one defending her (cough Loup cough). I hope the elf teens at least maintain some respect for her, but with the way they've been crowding her the whole time, I doubt it. Poor Lana

The question of 'realness' might actually be an instinct reaction to seeing someone who doesn't look quite human: They grew up in the forest and are probably trying to avoid ending up as a wisp's lunch.

I'm not even going to link to it, but in "The Cabin in the Woods", there is a "Truth or Dare" scene that is ALMOST relevant. If you google "I dare you to make out with that wolf" you can find it on Youtube. It is not obscene, but it is certainly disturbing!
It isn't the same at all, but there are a lot of factors that made me think of it... cute girl... wolf... awkwardness...
Unrelated to the movie clip, I really think that this could possibly be Coyote, and that playing with the elf kids like that would be well within what he might do. If it isn't, then she is officially my favorite robot character!

If this were a New Person who had previously been a laser cow, the response would be, "get your hands off me." Followed by intense staring as she attempted to blaz them with laser vision. And possibly, "cutting retort: it is you who are strange."

What are we thinking the odds are that she is another part of Coyote here to troll the Loup part which thinks he's so stealthy undercover?

This page is a bit creepy. My first thought exactly. It has this culture clash masculinity vibe. The Elves so far seems pretty straightforward bunch, while she seems to be acting in highly convoluted social frame. Her general risky attitude is not helping at all.
