I thought at first that the kid on the left reminded me of an older version of this kid who used to be a bunny: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1574But on looking at the original art again, there isn't really much resemblance beyond the fluffy brown hair. |

My first suspicion was that these two are Foley kids, because of their irises. Looking through Chapter 36, the one on the left somewhat resembles the kid in 5th panel here, but with longer hair. |

Foley kids is a good guess! I was thinking “new-bodied robots looking for their old bodies,” since Arthur’s eye color is also extreme, but they don’t look questionably mechanical with panel lines and whatnot like he does.

They certainly do have a fairy/Foley air about them. They could just be playing hide-and-seek. Considering Mouthless Squidward is seeking, that'd be the best hide-and-seek ever!

I'm not on the Discord, but I think the first person to point out the Dover Demon thing on this forum was Isildur! I've already prepared a batch of cookies for him, although I guess technically he doesn't get them until we know this guy isn't some other thing (like a robot, or Zimmy nightmare, or something). |
