I know everyone hates the self-important jackass who's all like, "look at me! I'm such an awesome fan for telling people they should support the comic!" I know i do. God. Screw that guy!
But i was just thinking to myself at the close of this freaking amazing chapter 'man, i love this comic... i should support it. Oh wait! I can do that!' And then i did! Although i used American dollars to do so, and they are approximately worthless these days.
So, you know. No pressure or superiority intended, just a catalyst to people who are maybe as scatterbrained as myself, or who perhaps were waiting to support Tom by buying the book, but feel he deserves some monetary lovin' in the interminable meanwhile.
Also, sorry if i'm duplicating a previous thread, i looked a ways back and didn't see one. Also sorry to everyone who's already donated, and managed to resist being the jerk-ass i am become.

As long as you don't donate your leftover Lehman Bros. stock ;D At least for me, donating something would be easier if I didn't see Tom whining about the readers, acting like they were attacking the comic when they are just giving their opinion or mention different points of view on a subject. This happens about every once in a month and takes the fun out of the comic when it happens. I will just assume there is a good reason why Tom is being pissed sometimes. However - it's kind of putting me off. The sad thing is, that this comment will probably provoke exactly this kind of response. The comic is still my favorite. Especially the last pages were really cool. And if I ever had vast amounts of money in my hands, I wouldn't hesitate to help.

I've seen Tom be touchy sometimes, but it seems like most of his responses on the boards are either gracious or simply factual. I haven't been on here that long, though. (alternate response: give the guy a break. You know how hard it is to respond to people's questions when you've just got stumps at the ends of your arms? And don't think the publishers make his life very pleasant when he tries to pay them in spiders.)

Nikita, the guy is an artist. He brings his work out to the scrutiny of many, on a medium such as the internet. That kind of criticism hurts directly and he wouldn't be the first artist I know to respond unfavorably.
Artist: "Look, here's some of my work that I'm uncertain anyone would ever like but it means a lot to me so I'm sharing it out in the open" Audience: "HAHA I AM THE INTERNET, I WILL NOT BE APPEASED BY SUCH MEAGRE OFFERINGS" Artist (in fetal position): "gosh golly internet you suck"
You're the audience, so you only see that last bit. Don't judge the author for it. Personally, I find his stand-offish attitude refreshing and intriguing.
