I thought those 2 were human-sized... there was no perspective in the previous page (yes the sounds were from a crack but idk) and I thought Loup shenanigans made them human-sized or something

- I like how the first panel shows the humans as they would appear to the fairies (assuming they are both fairies for now) at first, as huge looming creatures... - The short haired one really does look strangely elongated. On the fifth panel she could almost have a snakelike body. - On the second panel, there is the silhouette of one more tiny creature which appears to be red-eyed and with a much broader body than the other two. Another fairy or something else? - The tunnels below. The tunnels through which aggressive Forest creatures (and Idra) entered the Court, or other tunnels?

I have to say, I’m strangely reminded of Pain and Panic masquerading as children in Disney’s Hercules…

Maybe the creature that dug this tunnel? Some kind of mouse or mole or rabbit or something? Even though the two faeries were the ones that pushed through, I don't see them making this tunnel on their own.

Cripes! Humans!
A good way to greet people, in general.

We rabbits don't get out much because we really dig our homes.

It turns out that the fairies that have entered the tunnel are indeed fairy-sized, original fairies, not human-bodied Court ex-fairies. They're startled at first at having found humans, and we see some other type of creature in the tunnel behind them. The freckled one seems to have a pretty lengthy body; perhaps they're part snake or worm, or lizard. They're about to retreat hastily when Annie urges them to wait, and they take a second look, recognizing Annie (perhaps they looked at her in the Ether). And they tell Annie that there are several others in the tunnels below, which surprises Annie. Are these preexisting tunnels? We know the Forest has/had depths, because the creatures that attacked the Court from below (as well as Idra) weren't affected by Loup's time stop. But there's also the possibility that the old tunnels have been completely ripped apart by what Loup's done, and this is all new, or at least a new configuration of matter.

Aaaaah dammit they were just normal fairies after all. We all got fooled by their lack of wings or stuff to size-compare them to! There go my cookies...
I don't really know what people are talking about with the tall fairy being "snakelike." She just looks like an ordinary tall, thin, person (albeit shrunk down and with pointy ears) to me.
Also, that green fairy is ridiculously cute in the sixth panel. So happy!

Up to this point, the forest creatures (fairy and animal) have been cute, amusing, and mostly harmless (with some notable exceptions). So it is interesting that at this moment forest creatures appear with information that may be crucial to Annie in confronting Loup. I am reminded of Gandalf's statement during the council of Elrond in LOTR: This is the hour of the [forest]-folk, when they arise from their quiet [glades] to shake the towers and counsels of the Great.

No casualties so far - lots of survivors, after such a cataclysm! Doesnt make sense - Im thinking most or maybe everyone was MEANT to survive this. I detect a Coyote work in this....

Those humans do look scary in that first panel! Cripes indeed!
And I am going along with the theory that Freckles is somehow longer-bodied than one would normally expect. Not exactly the human-shrunk-down proportions we have seen on most fairies.

It was Elrond who said it, actually, but I still enjoy that quote.

I think our sample size is FAR too small to be making conclusions like that yet. We've seen six beings (if we count the shadowy figure in the tunnel) make it out alive, out of the presumably thousands that were in the Forest. The fairies say they have more refugees behind them, but we don't know how many weren't so lucky.

"passed their test" on this disaster.

There was nothing said about casualties after Coyote pushed over a building, or after Loup destroyed a whole block of the Court, either. This is just not the type of comic to have a high body count.

Welp, Then, the Court will have their hands full with ALL the fairies that... "passed their test" on this disaster. But without Coyote, who would help transfer the souls into the new human bodies? Was the Forest / Court student exchange program completely dissolved after Coyote's death? There's so many questions we just haven't answered!
