Forgive me if someone has mentioned this already, but I'm amused that the in-story reaction to Annie's merger is similar to the forum reaction. Namely, the what-the-actual-heck and that-came-out-of-nowhere reactions. If with the difference that for the characters in the story, there wouldn't be a response of "That was too easy, having the two Annies casually merged by Zimmy at the end of a chapter focused on her internal conflicts and troubles". (Indeed, I wonder how many people who know that the two Annies are one again know that Zimmy was responsible.) |

I mean, fair - I was referring more to the tone of the reaction than the substance of it. And judging by Parley's response, she has no idea Zimmy was responsible (does she even know who Zimmy is?) I trust Tom. He plays the long game and I haven't been disappointed yet. |

This page almost feels like a direct response to all the forum speculators who instantly jumped on the question of whether her firepower would have doubled or not. It feels a bit anti-climactic (but suspenseful!) to get the answer a page or two later with no demonstration quite yet, in a loveably Gunnerkrigg way!

It kind of looks like they are both in there. The Annies. I'm not sure if someone has made that comparison before on the forum, but what Zimmy has done to the Annies may be very similar to what happened to Coyote and Ys when they merged into Loup. |
