Yeah it's hard not to picture those mannequins in panel 7 as even-creepier Weeping Angels.
Nope nope nope nope nope.

Those toy soldiers surrounding the stuffed toys pile, that are also on the chapter title page, they're not just going to be toy soldiers anymore are they? They're thee to protect Gamma and Zimmy...

Panel 5 looks to me like a ladder glitched into the ceiling.

If this is a protective place, meant for meeting up, why does EtherGamma not want them to be there? Is "them" just the Backstreet Elves? If they're "fake", I hope Zimmy won't be self-abusive. If New Elves on the Block are real, maybe they'll see something radically different, than what Annie saw in Power Station. Hopefully, they'll keep they're faces. There is a strange sense of wistful foreboding. I do not like it.

Also, "wistful foreboding" is a great way to describe the tone of this page. I think "palpable suspense" also fits the bill.

Hmm... who do you think will be standing in the light once they round the corner?
Something tells me it won't be Gamma, but maybe someone in Annie's life. Or a blend..... I've been wrong before! But!

I wonder if what is about to unfold is something along the lines of "They find a fake Gamma there, Annie accidentally GOPs her, Zimmy flips her lid". A parallel to this?

Yay hooray no new information at all (sorry, but there are many wordless pages in this chapter) haha I kinda know what you mean. I love the art, but I keep going, "okay, so the next page we'll get a handle on what the hell's going on" for pretty much every page so far. Zimmingham is just too weird to understand without exposition..

A parallel to this?Given that Gamma was essentially telling Renard that all of this happened before Gamma met Zimmy, I don't think so. Everyone is stuck in the past with Zimmy right now. Huh, I wonder if the reason that Gamma goes to this spot is because it always is around of the trauma that Zimmy is holding on to, and essentially repurposed the location.

After an interlude with Gamma and Renard indicating that things are not going well for the Annies, the other Renard, and the Elf Teens, the panels return to their grid positions as we return to our original storyline. They've found the former toy shop that later became some sort of apparel store, the location where Zimmy and Gamma are supposed to meet up if they're separated, but this time they're finding ... something that looks like it has billows of smoke or perhaps dust around it. Forest Annie is seeing it first, probably followed by Court Annie, but Forest Annie is the only one who has a chance of seeing whatever-it-is in this page's last panel. But it's not a guarantee that even she has seen it yet, because it might still be around that corner, or it might be obscured by the smoke/dust, or both. She looks to be hesitating, as if it's become clear that this isn't what she expected to find. There's a lot of light, as there has been before, but there hasn't been smoke or dust. The toy soldier on the title page is, as many have mentioned, probably a reference to the fact that we see a ring or cordon of toy soldiers around Gamma when Annie and Zimmy find her in the former toy shop. Soldiers fight against an enemy, and there is often smoke on a battlefield, so perhaps they're fighting a battle, but against what enemy? Can't be the Annies and co., because they just got here, and the battle's already in progress. Could be another copy of any of them. Could be Tam, tied down like Gulliver. Could be a fake Gamma or Zimmy. Could be the real Zimmy for all I know. But here my speculation ends, because I don't even know that this is where the soldiers are going to appear, or if they will. The title page might have been symbolic, or misdirection. All we know is that there's light and smoke or dust, where there's just been light in the past.

Last time we saw the toy store, we saw Gamma nestled in a protective pile of stuffed animals, guarded by a protective formation of toy soldiers. Did Gamma summon those things or repurpose them? Maybe we're about to see some angry toys, missing their Gamma!

Hmm... who do you think will be standing in the light once they round the corner? Something tells me it won't be Gamma, but maybe someone in Annie's life. Or a blend..... I've been wrong before! But! I've got no flippin' clue at this point. It looks like we've got some kind of smoke or dust in addition to the usual light. I'm speculating that we could be seeing the toy soldiers, brought to life and fighting some sort of battle, because battle often produces smoke, but against whom or what? Well, what does the toy shop represent? A calming memory of sort-of-happier times, when Zimmy and Gamma used to sneak in at night, in the real Birmingham. But Zimmy's pushed Gamma away. The soldiers usually protect Gamma, or that's what we've seen – perhaps they protect whomever arrives first until the other one gets there. But again, Zimmy's pushed Gamma away. Her feelings that she isn't worthy of Gamma are particularly strong right now. We might see the soldiers defending an image of Gamma, such as a statue or flag, from an invading Zimmy. Probably using live weapons, if so, and they'd be as real as anything else in Zimmingham, which means quite dangerous to the Annies, Renard-who-is-part-of-Annie, and the treens. Or, as you say, it may be someone or something from Annie's life, since this time Zimmingham seems to governed by a blend of Annie and Zimmy's influences. Whom in Annie's life doesn't she think she deserves? Or, conversely, who in her life doesn't think they deserve Annie? My number 1 answer to that question is her dad, Tony. He doesn't think he deserves to be her father, because of how he deserted her and nearly killed her in his mad quest to bring Surma back. But Tony isn't in Zimmingham (that we know of). It may not matter, though, because the place can conjure images of anyone, and even though the feelings of unworthiness aren't Annie's, she knows about them, and they're real, just someone else's. Besides, Zimmy's had contact with him. We may see the soldiers defending an image of Annie from an invading Tony. Or that might be what Annie sees, while others see something else. Renard also feels some guilt over originally wanting to inhabit Annie's body, which would have killed her, so perhaps he has feelings of unworthiness, but that's a bit of a stretch; on the other hand, he's actually here, already involved in the events of this chapter. I'm pretty far out on this limb, so I'm going to stop before I somehow start linking this to, I don't know, (Snuffle), or the fingerprint on the moon.

Zimmingham is just too weird to understand without exposition.. You discribed my perception of it all exactly) And I cannot tell that I don't understand the purpose(/-s) of pages like that. They are needed. Just the chapters 76 & 77 unraveled one of the biggest mysteries of the plot and now 78 & 79 do the same. Therefore every page which doesn`t make us somewhat nearer to the solution make some (most?) readers... excited in a bit bad way)
