Don't mind me, just coming out from behind the panels I've been hidden behind for the last two pages... This is, to date, the most meta Gunnerkrigg page I've ever seen.

Seems like we are going to see things from Gamma perspective soon.

The Great Sleeper is awakening! All of reality will be now dissolved like dew at dawn.

Ah so the Omega Device was the "all just a dream" reset. Well it's a useful mechanism.

The way the words fade out to mush... it's like Gamma is maybe asleep/unconscious and is perceiving the Annie's and elves in Zimmingham while in that state, but is now gradually wakening, and starting to lose the "dream" which is not really a dream. [??]. I dunno.....
As for Gamma herself - reclining? floating? falling slowly? ...still not clear. Not obviously in distress/pain....
...and now we know all the elves! Kellin, Lise, Rob & Tam (still missing, presumed Zimmulated).

"My name isn't 'Court'."
Frankly, I don't recall Annies ever being this smooth in drawing boundaries.

Okay, this time I saw Gamma. This is, to date, the most meta Gunnerkrigg page I've ever seen. Are you sure? The way the words fade out to mush... it's like Gamma is maybe asleep/unconscious and is perceiving the Annie's and elves in Zimmingham while in that state, but is now gradually wakening, and starting to lose the "dream" which is not really a dream. [??]. I dunno..... We have seen this stylistic device before. But back then it simply indicated "the POV character is not listening, because she's busy talking to someone else".

Kinda expecting the elves to start calling them Annie and Annie Aswell. Or just plain Annie and Aswell.

Kinda expecting the elves to start calling them Annie and Annie Aswell. Or just plain Annie and Aswell. Or they'll start calling anyone from the Court "Annie".

Sleeping on the narrative? Gamma, pay attention. What did Rey say? Sure, it was probably just his name. But maybe, it was flirty foreshadowing between him and Rob. The new OTP: Robnard. Now, we'll never know... Thanks Gamma.

That last panel with Rey is really bothering me! Even with the nice shadows cast onto Gamma, making the panels look like physical photographs, I can't tell if it's facing left or right from the reader's perspective. I think it's supposed to be facing left, but the image remains frustratingly bistable.

I think it's supposed to be facing left, but the image remains frustratingly bistable. I am getting that too. I actually measured with the edge of a piece of paper held up to my screen, and the right-hand edge of the panel is slightly longer than the left. That probably indicates that it's meant to be facing left (with the right edge closer to us). But it's still got that visual ambiguity.

[??]. I dunno..... As for Gamma herself - reclining? floating? falling slowly? ...still not clear. Not obviously in distress/pain.... ...and now we know all the elves! Kellin, Lise, Rob & Tam (still missing, presumed Zimmulated). It's as if we've been following the point of view of Annie, Renard, Kellin, Lise, and Rob, whose names we now all know, but we've been gradually shifting to Gamma's PoV, and she's unconscious, only somewhat aware of what's going on here. If we'd been seeing things from Gamma's PoV the entire time, why would the words be fading to lines only just now? In other words, the art suggests a change in the state of consciousness of the reader. That's ... pretty cool, really. The position of Gamma's right arm (the only one that's in the frame) seems to suggest falling, but she could also be sprawled out on top of something not depicted, seen partly from above. We know of someone else who has fallen under dire circumstances. Sometimes things fall ... and break. Has Kat's manipulation of time caused something to happen to Gamma? There's a line of speculation about whether Zimmy and Annie are the same person, but has anyone speculated that Gamma and Annie may be the same? They both wear eye shadow and lipstick, and both have the ability to help Zimmy. But Gamma's slightly older. I'd be surprised if no one has speculated about that already. Interesting that the four bottom-right panels are displaced, signifying that this displacement isn't a chronological happening but specifically has to do with uncovering Gamma, whose face is in the lower right corner of the page. But the dissolving of the dialogue text into wiggly lines is chronological, happening only in the bottom row of panels. Panels 4 and 5 are physically displaced but with legible dialogue text. So it seems to suggest that two things are going on: Gamma is somehow coming more into prominence (perhaps waking up, or at least being searched for), and our PoV is shifting.

Translation of those last 3 panels: "Oh, yeah, Rob is actually just my nickname: my real name is also Annie." "Those other two jerks back there are Annie and Annie." "Hmmmph...well, Annie, Annie, and Annie, allow me to introduce myself; I'm Annie and Annie's familiar, Annie."

For some reason,I did not expect the green forest kid to be named Rob. Wondering if Zimmy will possess him too? (And what's goin on with Tam? This chapter has me at the edge of my seat.)

"My name isn't 'Court'." Frankly, I don't recall Annies ever being this smooth in drawing boundaries. Annie has always been a little more fiery when she is defending others. The chapter in the Realm of the Dead comes to mind when she thought Mort had been trapped as a joke. Even the psychopomps don’t want any of that when she’s mad. Seeing Zimmy in obvious distress would put her in a foul mood indeed.

Seeing Zimmy in obvious distress would put her in a foul mood indeed. That is true as well. And now she has an additional option: say meh, and watch the other person rush to patch things up. If it gets the same result with less effort and less side effects, why not use it more often? As a self-professed diplomat, she will need this skill.

Panels look tilted right then left then left then right (Rey's) Interesting, from the shadows I would have said they're all tilted left to varying degrees, though indeed I may not be the most reliable source.

I prefer Courtnie and Sylvie myself. How do their friends and family talk about them?
"Have you seen Annie?"
"Which one?"
"Long-haired one/short-haired one/forest one/court one?" Who knows?
I'm still confused about which timeline either one of them come from, and if there is a third Annie somewhere.

I'm still confused about which timeline either one of them come from, and if there is a third Annie somewhere. I just type Court Annie and Forest Annie, personally. But that is a good question – if they're talking to each other, they just have to say "you," and if one of them's referring to the other, she just has to say "Annie." But how do other people refer to a specific one of them? I guess it'd probably be "the longer-haired one" or "the shorter-haired one." But we have yet to see. Yes, I'm still confused about timelines – is there a timeline where Annie didn't come back from talking to Loup? Is the Kat of that timeline going nuts trying to get her back? Has that Kat visited the Norns? Is she going to crack a hole in the space-time continuum to get her Annie back? And if neither Annie is from this timeline, what's that all about? Is it because Annie originally died in this timeline, but Kat altered things so she didn't (but wouldn't that make this the timeline in which Annie didn't die, so therefore she should belong here)? Or was the pre-duplication Annie actually from another timeline already – in which case, when did that happen, and what's that Annie-deprived timeline like? It's still confusing, and there still isn't enough information.

Raaawb. Seems way too "standard" compared to Kellin, Tam, and Lise (the last maybe a bit more typical)...
