If we're in the regular Court: the sky is awfully grey compared to what it's been for some time. Is whatever Zimmy's running from also in the material world?
If we're in Zimmingham: Annie doesn't just go there; something has to happen before Annie gets pulled in. And Renard's never been there, so he'd be freaking out the first time he was there. So clearly we're in media res â the incidents leading up to this have been left out. Where are the Annies, Renard, and Zimmy in the material world?
In either case, where's Gamma?
It's looking likely that those who were saying that we're not in Zimmingham are going to get cookies, though.
(I really like Court Annie's outfit today.)

I had figured it was Zimmy running, but then I thought there's no evidence it isn't something else. But then there's Occam's Razor â Zimmy's the most obvious explanation, especially considering the stairs are hidden, then shown, then we see Zimmy.Overanalyze things? Me? Ha ha ha ha yes ... |

Well. Seems like many of us forgot how huge and empty the Court itself often looks. Is the bottom text a reference to this page? I think it's just a joke, pretending all the readers were wondering who the person on the first two pages was until Annies said her name out loud. Has it been said if zimmy sees zimmingham while others around her dont? The type of architecture we've seen in the last few pages seem different than what we saw when the gang was sneaking through town to bring forest annie to kat. Maybe the Annie's arent seeing what we and zimmy see right now. In Power Station, it was shown that people who end up in Zimmingham just seem to zone out and stand in a spot to uninvolved observers. Zimmy immediately recognized she had returned to Zimmingham, but it is not clear whether she actually recognizes the place - my theory is she first recognizes it because Gamma is not next to her any more. And now she panics because Gamma is gone, and there is no toy shop where she can be found. |

It's unclear what Annie sees on this page, but to the readers (and probably Zimmy), Zimmingham and the library are blending together, like a dream location that's somehow both places at once. So it's likely that we're currently seeing the Court with some features of Zimmingham. |

I'd say it's a matter of what you can see and what you can't see.It seems Zimmingham "appears" when Zims is ether-starved. When only a bit, only she (and probably Gamma) can see it. Bit more starved, and she can draw "ether sensitives" like Annie and Jack in (Power Station). Still more (prodded by robots in Torn Sea) and everyone nearby is there; local reality is affected for all. That said, Zimmster can see things others cant (Kat as mecha-godddess), so she can perceive (future? parallel? hidden?) realities not yet manifest. Pretty potent ability.... |

Maybe Rey can "see" other layers of reality, like when Zimms sees Kat as a mecha-goddess, and when he sees the Zimmster, he sees something hideous - a reality distorted Zimmingham monster. |

Speaking of which... as I reviewed the Torn Sea chapter, I noticed that there was one other person who saw mecha-Kat, namely... Paz! I'd forgotten that.
So there's a pretty short list of those who've seen that manifestation: Paz, Annie, Zimmy, and at least some of the robots. But since the robots are (or at least can be) linked, maybe it's really ALL of the robots.

Hmm, you're right, he's sort of been there, though that was a very different circumstance from what I was thinking of ... he and Shadow and the robots all physically entered the rift created by the Ether syphons.
