Kinda looks like a plastic army-man version of young Mort....

Toy soldiers huh. Going back to Tony's childhood perhaps? Is he going to be finally finding himself this chapter?

I was very confused and then I remembered that Gamma and Zimmy use toy soldiers as protection against the weird stuff in Zimmy's brain.

I think the title may be connected to the title of Chapter 64 Get Lost. That was about Tony and Surma. I suspect this will be about Tony and Annie.

So this is the chapter where we learn that the whole thing was just little Tom playing with toys and imagining all of Gunnerkrigg Court.

Surprised toy soldiers appeared twice as motif with Zimmy and Gamma. I was thinking of mort when I saw the page.
Anyway, I am here for a zimmy chapter.

The chapter icon could be Zimmingham, could be a door to the RotD, or best of all possible worlds this could be both a Zimmy and return-of-Mort chapter.
But yeah, no way we'd be that lucky, so the smart money's on Zeta.
Unless Mort does come back and Zeta kills him some more or something, and now he's double-dead and has to go the RotD2...

I was very confused and then I remembered that Gamma and Zimmy use toy soldiers as protection against the weird stuff in Zimmy's brain. Oh that's right! I can't think of anywhere else those little green Army guys have appeared in the comic. I think the title may be connected to the title of Chapter 64 Get Lost. That was about Tony and Surma. I suspect this will be about Tony and Annie. This was exactly what came to mind when I saw that title. In order to find anything, it must first be lost. And this brings in a whole bunch of speculation about how Tony might have become how he is (after all, Annie became unemotional, almost Tony-esque, when she ethereally separated the fire-elemental spirit from the rest of herself), but maybe I should wait and find out what the chapter's even about first. The chapter icon could be Zimmingham, could be a door to the RotD, or best of all possible worlds this could be both a Zimmy and return-of-Mort chapter. But yeah, no way we'd be that lucky, so the smart money's on Zeta. Unless Mort does come back and Zeta kills him some more or something, and now he's double-dead and has to go the RotD 2... I seriously started thinking about how exactly Mort could come back. So when you die in the Gunnerverse, the psychopomp you believe in comes and takes your spirit into the Ether, where everything you were sort of becomes part of the collective unconscious of the universe or something like that, but I have an ongoing theory that each psychopomp retains an ethereal connection to each spirit they've escorted. That's why no others came when Surma died: the one she believed in was Annie, and the others knew Surma's spirit was connected to Annie already anyway. But it was possible, via some twisted ritual, for Tony to bring a vision of Surma forth from Annie's spirit. What if ithere's a less twisted way for a psychopomp to willingly commune with the spirit of someone they've escorted in the past? If we ever see Mort again, that's how it could come about. But that would mean that Annie could also commune with Surma ... and with Jeanne and her boyfriend. However, I doubt this chapter will be about that. Its title suggests a Tony/Surma flashback like Get Lost, while its title-page image suggests something to do with Zimmy and/or Gamma.

Toy soldiers huh. Going back to Tony's childhood perhaps? Is he going to be finally finding himself this chapter? Zimmy's childhood before being left alone or Gamma before she is left by parents is my guess

I'd definitely prefer a Zimmy/Gamma backstory, rather than a Tony backstory. Though, either would be nice. Do you think the Court has to import things like plastic soldiers, or do they manufacture them there? What is their import list is like?

As suggested before, the title chapter could be a tie in with Get Lost, and I am always down for a Tony chapter, but the toy soldier does suggest Zimmy, who we haven't caught up with in a while. Maybe both somehow? A tony/zimmy face off could be entertaining.

I suspect this is a Gamma/Zimmy chapter. "Get Lost" didn't have Annie or Kat in it, really, until the very end; and "Ties" did not have either of them in it at all.
However, I'm going to guess that at least some of the gang will end up in Zimmingham. And I'm going to guess Zimmingham will be the main location. 50% chance I am super wrong.

Second thing: there are boxes on this page when Zimmy is trying to avoid Annie's scar. I've long wondered what makes Zimmy/Annie so tightly bonded, to the point where their self-identities blur. "Find Yourself" suggests we might see more of this connection/disconnection. So it could be a Zimmy/Gamma/Annie chapter.........

Two things: This green lighting also made me think of how the green arrow was stuck in the skeleton at the bottom of the waters. Same theme of imprisonment perhaps? Her hair even floats upward as if in water. Second: Seeing the page fia linked, I noticed tom's comment: "Look who's scrambling around in the trash again."
Then I read this page's comment: "Face in the gutter again, Zimmy?"
And in a recent page she is lying on the ground, without trash nearby tho. This all combined with this picture where Zimmy is lying in the trash again and her and Gamma (her plushies) seemingly having some bond with abandoned things makes me wonder about that motif's significance. Maybe it represents their life of making do with what they can find on the streets?

My 2 cents, this is a pure Z/G chapter, showing their separate backstories, until they find each other, forming an item, as Jack said, "that does not even begin to describe those two*. Find yourself as in, find your other half.
And this makes me think, Zimmy gains a lot from being near Gamma, (etheric heat dissipation), but what is Gamma's game at it ?
/WildThread wouldn't it be a clever plot twist that the Omega device is the seemingly innocuous GAMMA? As in the Court trying to magnify her power a millionfold, to DISSIPATE ALL THE ETHER SHENANIGANS, EFFECTIVELY KILLING COYOTE?

Furthering this: Gamma + Zimmy = Annie? I mean, like Ender's Game, the first sibling was too violent, the second too bland, thua, they created the third, middle ground

Annie is the Omega device LAUGHING ON LINE
No but for serious though isn't there that thing in alchemy where you mash the three primes together and get a philosopher's stone? Maybe it's that. Pretty sure Coyote, Ysengrin, and Renard are a three primes trio (Coyote being sulfur, Ysengrin salt, and Renard mercury obvs). On a surface level the three gals in question do bear a passing resemblance to the three doggo gods. So maybe the Court was tryna make their own dog god trio but instead of dogs they used little girls cause you just gotta work with what you got. And now Coyote's done gone and got two of his trio mushed together already, and super wants Renard for unclear reasons, so maybe the Court is all "Tony get yer weird science experiment daughters all gathered up we gotta make a philosopher's stone" and Tony's like "I'm extremely not ok with this" and the Court's all "bruh we didn't ask for your opinion get to work". And then maybe that's why Tony can't himself with Court Annie cause she's gonna be three people eventually and by retroactive causality she always was. Lucky break for Forest Annie I guess except for how she probably has to be a psychopomp now... ah but wait she still has that agreement for Loup to get her out of it, so maybe there'll just have to be a Philosopher's Stone Psychopooooommmp AHHHHHJHGJH WAIT JONES IS CALLED THE STONE.
