Nice new haircut! But again, did the new haircut only happen because of the Norns, or did they know she was going to change it anyway and so that's why they appeared with it?

I thought Katurday was the peak of short haired Kat.
I was so wrong.
Now the question is, has she got something hidden behind her back or is it just a pose?

GKC, above all, is a comic about girls getting haircuts. So Kat getting short hair back is probably a sign she is feeling better. She is the one with the short hair, after all. And yeah, inspired by the future norn! She is also totally hiding something behind her back. A Tic Toc? I am glad to see, presumably, them patching up their relationship.

best hair Kat has arrived
also i'm calling it she created a animal for her as a gift and Paz will comment on it speaking oddly compared to normal animals she talks to

Does Paz even know about the Tic-toc at this point?
I think this is gonna be an attempted reconciliation arc and I am here for it.

Kat incidentally making a Forest and Court using only Court Robots. She would be aware of the body change program that both the Court and Forest use except her's is way faster

I went and checked one my my husband's suit jackets to make sure, and Kat's shirt buttons in the traditional "male" placket direction (left buttonhole placket over right buttons rather than right buttonhole placket over left buttons). Though this is not super strictly observed anymore and who cares about a golf shirt, we trust Tom to attend to the details.
The body-change thing was just where my mind went, but I was just chatting in the work diversity chat and it was on my mind. Kat might be signaling that she's considering it for herself. Or not. It is pretty far-fetched to be sure. (Yes, it is. Don't go nuts about it, heh)

It is pretty far-fetched to be sure. (Yes, it is. Don't go nuts about it, heh) It hasn't been really well defined where the characters' clothes come from, but if she got the shirt off a rack at a shop, it might have originally been made as a boys' shirt, but she liked how it looked, and it fit her, so she bought it. Or maybe she saw a picture of it online and liked it, and had her computer fabricate it? ... Yes, I'm not sure we can read anything more into it than it's a shirt.

Nice new haircut! But again, did the new haircut only happen because of the Norns, or did they know she was going to change it anyway and so that's why they appeared with it? Urd explained that when Kat looked at her, she saw someone who had lived a full life -- or as I read it, Kat saw what she thinks a mature version of herself would look like. So it seems Kat's gotten her hair styled in a way that she considers mature looking. She knows there's some reconciliation to do.

Far right side of the first panel I see a ship or something that looks like the thing in the chapter icon. Yes, I see it now, good eye -- although now the question is whether more will be made of it as the chapter continues, or whether it's the "random image from somewhere in the chapter" type of icon.

Far right side of the first panel I see a ship or something that looks like the thing in the chapter icon. Looks like a fairly common ferry shape and size. So on this particular dartboard we have: * reconciliation * dumping * presenting with new animal * tasering and claiming it was a joke * visit from the actual hairfuture

I think this haircut is the bee's knees. Coincidentally, a pair of bee's knees is what Kat is hiding behind her back. As for whether, Paz will be impressed with the bee's new ability to do the Charleston, or freaked the hell out, only time will tell.

Far right side of the first panel I see a ship or something that looks like the thing in the chapter icon. No I don't think that's quite it. It looks similar, but the chapter icon is way more short and round, almost pentagon-shaped, while that boat is clearly long and rectangular.
In other news, I can't help laughing a bit at this Very Obvious quirk of Kat's where she always grows her hair out while she's in a funk, and then gets it cut the moment she starts to feel better again.
You know, it occurs to me...the very first time we saw her decide to get a haircut, it was the day she re-united with Annie after a long summer break of only sending sparse letters to each other. I wonder if she was more upset about leaving Annie behind than she seemed, and that haircut was actually a recurrence of the same pattern.

Okay can I resurrect a really really old page for a sec completely unrelated to the current page? Oh wait that's for the "Things I Noticed on Reread". I'll post this again there. But this is the page I was thinking about; since the chapter title is suggests it may be about the foundation of the Court and in this scene is Jeanne's memories around that time.

The way Paz is looking over the sea, making me wonder now if she's not considering leaving the Court outright. There's been speculation here and elsewhere that Paz might end the relationship, because she is realising that when push comes to shove she'll always be runner up to Annie, but that might not be everything. The page where she goes on about everything being in disarray, as well as the appearance of a second Annie, suggests this was a factor in seeking out the confrontation in chapter 74. Perhaps the craziness of the Court as it is now is too much for her? From what I can gather about her childhood, she wasn't quite a country girl growing up, but semi-rural Spain would be a lot more peaceful than what she's faced with right now. Edit: Separation might be the only way to get her mind off Kat too.

Could it be the same thing seen from different angles say, for example, if the ship was moving left to right from the perspective of the shore?
