How's this for some speculation? The story has a lot of future-vs.-past parallelism to it, and one of those is the parallel between the robots and the shadow people (of the Forest -- not the Shadow Men in the Court). The shadow people started out looking like humans, only with glass eyes, but then over time became less human, even two-dimensional. Shadow 2 has become like his ancestors by becoming three-dimensional, but not fully human-like yet. However, the robots are becoming more human with Kat's help, assisted (sometimes dangerously) by the seraph robots. Robot has become more like what the future robots will look like, but not fully human-like yet.

Now, for a long time I've been wondering about Shadow's growing concern about Robot's proselytization among other robots about Kat's divinity. What if that comes to a head somehow during this chapter? As in, what if Shadow tells Annie about it, or one of the Annies, at least? What will they do? Maybe one of them has a talk with Robot and the other has a talk with Shadow. The two Annies have become more and more like each other, sometimes speaking in unison. What if this starts to make the Annies diverge a bit? And can Shadow and Robot's relationship be saved?

I just realized a second thing. The tooth could be a Tom Siddell Misdirection™, and maybe it's Renard's body-taking power (from Coyote) that will kill him....................
But it's definitely one of the two, imho.

EDIT: Oh my gosh. Or the Court booby-trapped the lake water and that's what could kill Loup.

I guess there's three possibilities. I don't know how to rank them in terms of probability now.
