I'm struck by how finely Paz's bone structure is drawn and how close her dress and gloves come to being an almost idealised representation of the thought, "Paz is so pretty". She really is. I never thought about it much but she reminds me a lot of my Latina sister-in-law, who is as beautiful at 50 as she was at 20.
Also, the care Tom took in giving Kat and Paz altogether different collarbones is something that I haven't noticed so much since Norman Rockwell took care to give the three little girls each differently laced sneakers in one of his famous magazine covers.

Everyone, but Mort and Ysengrin, have had a background companion. It's certainly feasible that Renard will be a lone #2.
But what if, #2 is Annies and Renard, and Tom just trolls for #1? Is Tom-foolery afoot?

So if we do some math: Total Possible Votes: 43950 Remaining Votes to be displayed: 16748 Minus top two (each at least 4390) Distributed among other options 7968 I can't remember how many characters there were on the poll, and I can't find the screenshot I think someone took of it on the forums, but assuming there were 50, if every character got an equal number of votes, it means there would have been an average of about 879 votes per character; but that is unlikely, because each voter gets just one vote per character and they won't be evened out by double or triple voting, so allow me to arbitrarily decide the average would be more like 879/3 = 293 or 879/2 = 409 or so. The maximum popularity of each character would be 14650 (if every voter voted for them, also unlikely). With this info we can get an idea of relative popularity. If a character got more than 500 votes, given the data, I think that means they're sort of above average popularity. If they got less than 500, then they're average or below average popularity. So any characters not shown yet who are not in the top 2 have a high likelihood of receiving (7968/(50-19) = 257) below average popularity. To me that suggests that at least one of our frequently-mentioned forum favorites not shown yet did poorly  Probably Renard is in the top 2 because it would be strange to be scored at lower than 1000 votes. So I'm going to guess it's Rey and Frannie................. I wonder what score Courtnie got, she's not going to be enthused........ At this point I just hope Boxbot got at least 500 votes!!! EDIT: For those keeping track, Kat's 4383 votes out of a possible 14650 means just about 1 in 3 voters voted for her. Out of about 50 options – that's pretty popular! |

(Though my other reaction is to say that of course Coyote is bigger than anyone else, thank you very much, so the chart actually gives the correct impression.) |

Yeah, a lot of fans (including myself) use these lists as opportunities to highlight under-represented characters. I like Annie, but she's too obvious to make it into my top 3. She gets her share of attention already. *shrugs*

Thanks for reminding me of Rockwell's work.  And yeah, I agree with the general consensus that Paz looks stunning in that dress. I agree with Runningflame also that it looks like a dance.
