That's the definition of an unreliable narrator.

Did no one else notice that the arm doing the flick looks more like Ysengrin's than Coyote's?

Did no one else notice that the arm doing the flick looks more like Ysengrin's than Coyote's? There's the possibility that Coyote only gave his tree powers to Ysengrin after the ravine incident and that's why the headmaster is shocked to see what the devil he has done to himself. That sentence sounded like the headmaster had just lost what little respect he had for General Ysengrin. But also, both Coyote and Loup are able to shapeshift their paws into hands, so that shouldn't be relevant

I'm gonna take a wild guess that Coyote gave that Tik Tok a flick through time, so it's why the robots think the birds predate the court. He flicked it at the moment it was going to time skip and end up in the further past

Just wanted to take a moment and say how much I've enjoyed looking at all of your flick Toc thots.

Well... seeing this I now think it was kind of obvious. Is panel 3 viewed through the Tic-toc's eye? That's the definition of an unreliable narrator. The best lies contain a lot of truth.

Remember they still expected Surma to be the Court's medium, even though Surma had left the Court before Annie's birth, so at least twelve years before this meeting. But I agree that Coyote has often before turned his paw into a hand looking like the one on this page. Another example.

Yeah, and I just remembered that we had a brief sighting of Ysengrin before that (but not that long before, though) when he gave Robot the wooden arm. So it was at least several months prior to the incident, but probably long ago

So Coyote seeing this event in full means He sees this random fire elemental walking on the bridge and fall See's birds appear out of nowhere in time to save said fire elemental Uses this as a excuse to go to court for visit later via triggering Y's Maybe look around to see if the Court is messing with time and he hates competition Or Coyote put the "bad?" shadow in Robot, and told it to walk across the bridge, to start the whole chain. It'll be interesting to see what Kat's TimeApp sees next. There's Annie's Tic-Toc dissection and Red/Blue conversation. Or it could just skip to a communique with Coyote. The post-"Flick!" Tic-Toc growth doesn't seem like Coyote's work, but maybe he just used what he had, in order to send a message. He'd have to know the chain exist before he starts it for that to be true. It's no denying it was Coyote's will for the control takeover but we are still missing the why do it to begin with since it wasn't immediately. I'm guessing next page doesn't even show Kat seeing the bird break from the flick

I'm guessing that flick did not break the bird, but rather, sent it further back in time - to about Diego made his robots, or before. Thus explaining why the robots think the birds predate the Court.

How could Annie then have found the broken bird two minutes later? Same as captain america being at the Endgame epilogue. AFter time travel shenanigans, it stayed there destroyed for years

My counterpoint is a big huge "Coyote did it" Certainly possible, but he had better had a good reason.

Orchestrate the battle of the new gods, Kat vs Loup, where Loup will die. *snort*
