As bird sinks into pool, it's characteristic 'tic toc' noise is distorted into a screeching squawk, not unlike a travelling tardis. Everyone looks at Skuld, who smiles sweetly. "I couldn't resist making an extra adjustment" she lisps.

A flash of light, and then everyone wakes up in a cube-shaped room...

Even more reminiscent of the Thousand Eyes panel, must be the visual effect we see when it travels

When first looking at panel three I was confused why there were four Norns looking like Kat, until I realized one of them was Anja.

Thanks for the uppercase comment, Tom.
I wouldn't notice the subtle pun otherwise.

Oh, I just re-read the chapter and realised the chapter image is the lamps from the bridge. We're going to see that fateful night from the TicToc's perspective now aren't we? I hope Kat installed an inter-temporal GoPro in the bird's eyes. Or maybe the Norn's pool will do that for us.

You beat me to it, I was gonna point out that the pool would project the bird's point of view like a big flatscreen. PS: maybe Skuld also modified the controller to decode this signal in "real time" from wherever/whenever it was sent to. Since what will be done has already been done, they already have the whole footage without the need for time travelling 5G (yeah, yeah, that's a bootstrap paradox because Kat would be making decisions based on the footage, but that stuff happens all the time when you break it)

A selection of popular songs that involve ticking and tocking, for the occasion Patti La Salle, "Quarter After Eight" (1960) U2, "11 O'clock Tick Tock" (1980) The Hives, "Tick Tick Boom" (2007) Madonna (and friends), "4 Minutes" (2008) and of course Ke$ha, "Tik Tok" (2009) Which will end up resembling this plot arc more closely, do you reckon?

And how can I not add, Time, by Pink Floyd.

There's also Six O'Clock by the Lovin' Spoonful, a great song but it may not be too relevant content-wise.

Place birdbot gently in water, then slowly bring to a boil. Steep for 6-7 centuries. You will know it's done when Ysengrin crushes it to a fine powder.

Over in the comments, mikaeilis said "Huey Lewis and the News starts playing".
"Back In Time", or "Power Of Love"? Both seem appropriate here.

So it's time to take bets: are there going to be seven, instead of six, Tic-Tocs at the bridge? Or are we going to watch this Tic-Toc loop through the same moment five times so there are enough of it to carry her to safety? Also, will we see it hop around to various chapters in the comic, both before and after the fateful night, as Kat gets her bearings and narrows down when and where it needs to be?
