I can't stop looking at panel 3. It looks so simple, but somehow It feels like there's a lot of information in Kat's expression. I love it! That expression is the weight that Verdandi is talking about in panel 1. I love it, because I've seen that same look on people who carry weight of what they've done or need to do.

I can't stop looking at panel 3. It looks so simple, but somehow It feels like there's a lot of information in Kat's expression. I love it! It's very striking. As if it's saying, Kat understands without knowing. Wait. You are too smart to know? How does that even work? We let you mess with time itself, but we wont tell you why you are allowed to do that - Because you would do something intelligent? Also as someone who works in direct customer-facing tech support, I assure you that "too smart to know" is a thing. There is certain technical information I can't give to a motivated, engaged, bright customer because it could lead them down the path of temptation into the Slough of Despond and cause an even worse issue that could be hard or impossible to solve later. Sometimes "do as I say and keep your mouth shut" is protective, particularly when there is a risk someone might do something intelligent - but unwise. I've never found a coworker with regedit open, but the paranoid thought, that someone might be clever enough to find a way to open it up, still bugs me. System Restore, Data Backup, hallowed be thy name.

Okay, but why. Obviously they have a good reason (or at leas they think that) for not telling her " 'First time'? I don't understand the concept."

Okay, but why. Obviously they have a good reason (or at leas they think that) for not telling her, but how can it be wrong to telling Kat what exactly happened the first time. She already did contemplate that Annie did die in some time, so that won't break her mind or something. It must be something else. Hmm, maybe first time Kat had plans she didn't want her "younger than usual" selves to know? Or robogodess Kat asked the Norns to be silent about this. It may be as simple as that the "first time", from the Norn's perspective, hasn't happened yet (from Kat's perspective). They can't tell her about it without a paradox, namely Kat knowing exactly what she's going to do before she does it.

Hey Tom, panel three speech balloon should be blue. Panel four speech balloon should be white. Hmm, in panel 4, Verdandi!Kat has the blue highlighted speech bubble instead of Real!Kat in panel 3. Probably a mistake? Edit: Beaten, whoops. Not sure when, but the bubble colors were corrected.

*Shaking a fist toward the rainy sky* SIDDEEEEEELL! I hate this comic! No answers! Never! Oh, you think you get an answer? NO! Only more questions! You are a troll, Mr. Siddel, a troll, and a bully for toying with our hearts and minds! This was evil, and you are the worst! The absolute worst! I HAD ENOUGH!!! AAAAAAAARGH! ... ... ... Well... After a bucket of ice, three doses of sedatives, and the promise of a big chocolate ice cream, I calmed down. Yeah, I don't really hate the comic. I kinda... actually like it. All right, all right... it is still my favorite. I still think this was a cruel thing to pull off though... It's funny that I read that in Nox's voice and quirks as if he was pacing and zapping around the room talking to the Eliacube. Welcome aboard, by the way

It might be nothing, but Verdandi's little pep talk infers that, while they are still getting to know Kat, they already have some knowledge of her parents. Via Brinny, perhaps?* *Hiding this in case people aren't that into Wagner, or Anna Russell... (Brinnie may or may not be Erd's daughter, depending on how much Tom is drawing from Wagner, or manga. )

English is not my native language, so please let me know if I am wrong... but I think the speach had no indication of this.
In panel 2, Verdandi doesn't starts to say "[...] but because of this we can't tell you" She says something along the lines of "Because of this, we hope you undersand that we can't tell you."
In other words they don't think that Kat is too smart to know the truth, but that she's smart enough to accept that they can't tell her.
You're not wrong (and I was joking around above). It's really more like, "you're incredibly intelligent, and it is a burden to you, and in our best judgment it would be wrong for us to add to that burden, as we would do if we told you. We know how loving and emotional you are, maybe better than you do, and you will need to trust us on this." The sweet, compassionate look on Verdandi's face is a clue to that. I interpreted it more as an expression of concern. Verdandi knows Kat is intelligent and is ravenous to figure out more of mysteries and the unknown. But the more she learns about her world, the more she is hitting the seemingly incomprehensible Etheric walls to her frustration. That has weighed on her mentality and relationships with others. Like in chapter "Thread" and last chapter. So it looks to me Verdandi in the second panel is saying: "Ah, Kat, we know you don't like not having figured out stuff. But we have to be silent about this, and we really hope this will not add to the weight you already have on your mind. Sorry." And to this Kat has such a striking face. She is weary of this lack of knowledge, but she is also starting to resign to the idea that she can't have figured out everything, at least not immediately. Progress! She still doesn't like it tho. But all your intepretations are also possible.

Kat major hair cur side shift panel 1 -> panel 3. (Picky picky...I know)l You mean she got a temporal haircut? That's what this comic is about, right? Hair being cut (or shifted, in this instance)
