Ya' know, for a guy who runs a school larger then most countries, we know very little about the Headmaster. We know that Janet's his daughter, and that he's very pale. That's about it.
So, I guess, this is the thread for discussing our man of mystery. Is he a zombie? A robot? A fairy? Or just a very bored guy? And what's his deal with Jones?

He's also inappropriately bored, at least by the other side of the bridge.

He's also inappropriately bored, at least by the other side of the bridge. Not entirely. He was disturbed by Ysengin's transformation. He just doesn't care for the show that Ysengin and coyote pulled off.

I get the impression of a guy who's probably not as prone to misconcieving the forest beings as a nuisance. That "rude" act I think was entirely calculated to get Ysengrim to drop a card or two from his hand in a foolhardy "how DARE you?!" reaction. Anybody who thinks the forest beings are a nuisance wouldn't go to that effort.
With that in mind, and his little talk with Antimony, I think he is more aware of the Court's goings-on than anybody else. Kind of like the Architect in the Matrix. What also makes me suspect this is his question "Do strange things happen to you?" He has to be smart enough to know Annie wasn't exactly about to fully indulge the truth to him at that point--especially not after getting called on supposedly bringing a Tic-Toc to the woods. (We know this gets revealed to be a mistruth on Ysengrim's part, but at that moment, neither she nor the Court knew any better.)
This strikes me as a guy who's smart enough to spot a potential medium, potential dangers in the wood, to take on the mysterious Jones as an advisor....nope. Not stupid or bland at all. He's probably just cultivating the air of bored normalcy to throw people off.
A guy wouldn't make Headmaster without having at least some redeemilng qualities, or at least a sense of inter-personal relations.
(The reason I go along this angle is becuase I know a web forum admin on another site who's creepily like this.... >_> )

Somehow the entire episode felt like Coyote had a whole other reason for doing it and was already aware of the holesi n Ysengrins statements and beliefs. Ysengrin seems just so much like a pawn.
That insta giant growth and paw through the stone pillar is still awesome. and a small display of Coyote's godhood.
The headmaster was probably aware this whole thing was gonna be a waste of time ontop of his opinions on the forest dwellers being nuisances.

The Headmaster seemed to me to have already gathered all the subtext and meaning behind it, and was only going through the motions for everyone else.
