I'm full-on expecting a TicToc to be the one to bring the seed Bismuth to the first meeting of the Court and Forest now. Seeds grow into trees, and TicTocs grow into Courts! I'm fully on the "the TicToc is the seed Bismuth itself" theory.

"Let them figure it out."Ooh, I knew it. Every time the TicTocs are seen it is for a reason. It is going to show Anja something that sets something else in motion, maybe Anja and Donny's whole romantic relationship? I don't think a Tic-toc was needed for that. As seen in "Ties", they were part of the same group of friends and spent plenty of time with each other. Surma also helped them acknowledge their feelings for each other. No time-travel needed for that. By the way, I'm really not sure if I like all of this. If Kat (or any other time-traveler) does several things in the past because they think it's the right thing to do / because they have a specific goal, and then it turns out that's what always happened, fine. But if she does all these things in the past just because she is told she did them, and thus has no other choice, it robs her of all her agency. And that's poison for a story.

Yeah, if it turns out that by this universe's time travel rules Kat can engineer her own birth, then she might as well be responsible for the Court's creation while she's at it. That was basically my only reservation with the "Kat created the Seed Bismuth" theory, but we have seen stranger, and it does fit with Coyote's theory (if it turns out he was right). Let's take it one step further! You know what's older than the Court? And where NO ONE knows where it came from? And what has immeasurable powers even by present standards??? FutureKat made PastJones JUST to prove Coyote and his whole "I existed before people realised I existed" wrong, because then she can go "Timetravel, boom, fixed all your problems." This could be the foreshadowing for that. (credit to this post; I thought it too farfetched when I read it, but it has become more plausible now)

In an earlier version of the timeline, Kat might not have had access to the warehouse or even knew about it until later on in her life.
Sending her parents to the warehouse would have increased the chance that Kat gains the resources needed to change the timeline even sooner or to deal with other problems.
Perhaps Kat failed the first time that she tried to save Annie, and when she realized how she tried to save but fail to save Annie, tried again with a new approach.

Snort. Is Kat actually Coyote? Should this be renamed Gunnerkat Court? You know, those two have never been seen together in one panel... Kat's been seen in the same panel as half-coyote: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=2221

It has not been confirmed yet that the light is Kat, but it is a possibility.

Kat's been seen in the same panel as half-coyote: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=2221And she is clearly filtered out of half-coyote's perception as if to prevent a feedback loop induced PT-Class Paradoxical Time Breakdown Scenario! PS: after browsing the database to accurately qualify said scenario, I realized that the first Kat produced a CK-Class Restructuring Scenario and the current Kat is stressed about having to prevent a TK-Class Causal Restructuring Event! PPS: and that Santa is real in a weird way

It has not been confirmed yet that the light is Kat, but it is a possibility. In the YouTube video on that chapter that was recently released, Tom explicitly said that Reynardine was going to be spending the day with Kat. That's why I'm all aboard the "that light is Kat" train.
