"Miss Kat", huh. I think this is the first robot to call Kat by her own name. Perhaps because she was doubting.

Don't let me hear you say Kat's Taking you nowhere. Angel!

That's a super standard off-the-shelf type of solenoid valve, heh. Someone could theoretically have nipped down to the hardware shop for it. I'd have expected to see something a bit more, well, elegant.
About the subject of religious faith, I have nothing to say except that I find it precisely as absurd in general as we find this specific case to be.

That's an interesting amount of grey outside the lines colouring on this Robot. Very ether-y? Kinda reminds me of this visual when the other old robot talked about movement as a reason for existing.

Enough emphasis has not been placed on the fact that, unlike other divinities who exist as such because of the will of humans, Kat exists as a divinity because of the will of robots.
Not that I differentiate much between biological and artificial humans anyway.

Not that I differentiate much between biological and artificial humans anyway. It would suggest that the robots are on their way to becoming en-souled... and so will be needing their own pomp soon. (Pretty sure this has been suggested before! Apologies for not remembering who first raised the idea....)

Oh dear. So begins the first denominations, based on different valve designs. The Ball and Gate Wars will be costly.

Ah yes, confirmation bias. That's the thing she needed for her religious awakening

I love the interplay of faith in this comic.
I mean, think about it, should the Robots continue to view Kat as their Angel, follow her, support her and have faith she is doing what is right for them?
Or should they reject that and try to determine their own future without her?
She can do things they can't, and so far, she has done right by them more than the rest of the world.
Is their faith in her their best way to thrive?
What would it look like if they rejected her as a higher being and treated her like every other human, denying her access to the places and power they have given her access to because of their faith in her?

What makes her any different than her mother, who can do things that Kat couldn't understand when Kat was already considered the Angel. Separate faith from religion, religion is a mess, but Tom consistently talks about faith and belief and the power it has not just over the believer, but the person that they believe in. Kat is the Angel because the Robots believed in her, gave her the chance to learn and grow in her abilities, and she strives to live up to that. Coyote has his own story involving faith and power. All the characters in this comic are made stronger by the faith others have in them. It's something to think about, how we have, or don't have faith in each other, and how that affects not only us, but the people we believe in.

It's not like they can prevent her from doing as she pleases, and her bypassing their barriers and rules would be for them what some all powerful old guy in the sky is to humans. So even if they intend to treat her like a regular human, they'd still subconsciously worship/fear her

Anja has a shallow understanding of the other for her computer. Kat sees straight through ether creations, see the arrow lock, rotd, etc. There's 3 levels of view of the ether shown so far. The normal one, seeing Smithy's power strings, Kat's vision

I called it! Well, no, I didn't, actually. But I was thinking yesterday about that solenoid valve, and how Kat ran off without doing anything about it, and how the golem lady was left hanging. I just didn't post my thoughts. So I'll be over here enjoying my imaginary cookies. Also: if golem lady had thought to ask Robot, he could've told her that it's not a test, just Kat being a butt.

If I used time travel to post predictions here, I could just read each page before making predictions about it. I might as well break into the cookie factory and steal them all. Not sporting!

I don't know why but I think this page made me laugh the most out of the many bonus pages. It's also amazing how much emotion she shows in 6 panels all without changing facial expressions!

But fun nonetheless! It's like in "Darkwing Duck and the Untimely Terror of the Time Turtle!": "You can't prevent me from stealing it, because I am already stealing it right now!"
Not sporting, in my opinion, would be to go back in time, invest a tiny amount of money which becomes a big amount of money, and then buy the cookie factory right after it has been constructed, to get all the cookies it ever produces.
