If they bring Tony into a time travelling rescue operation, he's going to try to save Surma.
I'd love Kat's parents to get involved, would love to find out about their history with the birds and see the reaction they would have to the robots stating Kat made them.
They would probably have a lot of input to add on the whole thing.

Ugh, seeing Paz mentioned still makes me bristle. I hope her confrontation and attempt at intimidation isn't just swept under the rug. Haven't the events of this chapter just proved that Paz WAS right? Recognising Kat's problem long before Annie did, even though her solution was wrong. Not really. Kat isn't distracted because of the consequences of anything Annie has done; Kat is distracted by the paradigm-shattering implications of Annie's existence... Paz was basically angry wth Annie for existing. It's as if Kat became worried about racism and Paz started yelling at Black people for existing...

Okay, so tired money is on some norm-o like Anja or Donald or, Tom forbid, AnthonyWired money is on Zimmy, Jones, the Headmaster, Alistair (he visited! Cue the guest star applause!), Renard jumping into a TicToc for time shenanigans - anyone else? now that its in my head, what if Renard is possessing all the birds that are from the past at the same time. but his spirit is splintered in them all so he's hard to see etherly. would probably be limited to only Coyote, Kat or zimmy would noticed

" Another person." " They would be saddened." Am I not aware of a grammar rule here? was "they" a mistype, not "he" nor "she", or even "it"? Is Tom deliberately hiding the genre of the aforementioned person, to clifhang us? Edit: Or is Annies losing the distinction between singular and plural, as a person that lives in two bodies? they can be singular

Okay, that cliffhanger is just mean and petty, Tom. I am OUTRAGED and also intrigued.
But seriously, I have no idea who the heck they're talking about. It seems weird for it to be Anja, since it doesn't exactly seem like much of a surprise or revelation that she'd want to help Kat, and plus if they were going to get her for help they should also be getting Donny (and they're only talking about a singular person). Arthur, Robot, and Juliette have all probably been seeing a lot of Kat recently, so I don't see how it could be them...and if it was Tony, I don't think the Annies would look quite so cheerful. The only other person I can think of who we know is good with robots is Jack, but that seems a bit out of the blue. Does he even know Kat that well, besides just being in the same year? They're not even in the same class, and haven't spoken that much since the whole Whiteleg incident, as I recall.
In the end, I think I'll just put my money on Doctor Disaster, and hope for the best.

I don't think it is either Tony or Anja; why would Annie need to remind Kat what those two can do? Kat knows better than anybody else, certainly better than Annie, since she has worked with both...
At the beginning I thought it could be Zimmy, since she knows about space-time dimensional warping duplicate shenanigans, and she senses something odd about the birds... but, why would she be upset if something happened to Kat? She barely knows her...

Jack words words and likes Kat. Excuse me? I mean, it's going back a while but he's always been friendly towards her right back to his first appearance in Power Station. I'm not saying they're best friends but that little social circle of Jack, Annie, Kat, Willie, Janet, Matt, Paz, Margo and John was implied to be a thing for quite a while.

I'm starting to think that Annie's mystery helper is going to be Robot King.
He actually makes sense in a couple different ways. He's a robot, so he may have some knowledge of robotics that could help. He was also the one who told the girls about the mythical ornithobot(s), so he may know even more that would give Kat some clues about how the tic-toc should behave (i.e. be programed).
Yeah, this is probably way off base and it'll turn out to be Jones or Boxbot...

It's starting to become a bit eerie how the Annies have the same idea at the same time and can finish each other's sentences. One might even start to think they're synchronizing in anticipation of a merge (I won't).

My money is on Mr. Donlan. Annie felt safe and understood by him when she was upset and in chaos. He said some kind and wise things, and did some smart and decent things with a fine high disdain for mere convention, and showed her that he had more up his sleeves than his arms. He may have a real hands-off policy toward his independent daughter, but there comes a time when a girl needs her dad to be her friend and involved, not just a distant authority figure mumbling "sure, dear, whatever you want". Tony is very well and all but... eh, he's not very well, you know what I mean.

Has anyone guessed Brinnie yet? Or Jones? Or Gamma's mother? I still think either Tony or Kat's parents are the most likely, but I just want to throw out every crazy possibility.

Hmm, another thought, but Smitty maybe? Could use his powers to "luckily" send the birds back to the exact time point they are needed to save Annie. Hey, now THIS is a really good guess! It's impossible to do it? Ol' Smitty eats "impossible" for breakfast. He's a friend, a good person in general, and he'd be able to help (with practically anything). "They" can be used to refer to a singular person, if you don't know or don't want to disclose their gender, if they don't have a gender at all (not unlikely either, with all the sorts of creatures running around this comic) or if you just want to talk about a person, whose gender is absolutely irrelevant for the point you want to make. My money is on Mr. Donlan. Annie felt safe and understood by him when she was upset and in chaos. He said some kind and wise things, and did some smart and decent things with a fine high disdain for mere convention, and showed her that he had more up his sleeves than his arms. Tony is very well and all but... eh, he's not very well, you know what I mean. No, the dad with the hand(s)-off policy is Tony. *Ba-dum tsh!*
