Throwing my speculation in: Kat builds a multiverse machine to try to get her Annie back, but because she's still messing with stuff she doesn't quite understand, she instead does the same thing as Loup and creates another new timeline and pulls another Annie from there. Kat does not react well when she realizes what she's done. I get the feeling, it's not a Loup pinata. But that would be hilarious (and cathartic).

So, if Kat can't find the rules she will make the rules. She will make the unseen seen. She has knowledge and perspective Tony never had thanks to Annie. Instead of totally ignoring the Etheric point of view she has synthesized it with her own and this makes her dangerous. A potential warrior against the Ether. A conqueror. And the Court? They have been very aware of her actions. They have guided them silently for some time. Her ends are their ends. Or, even worse, she is their end, and the Omega project is not a machine but a person. A person who will achieve apotheosis and bring the Ether under the control of humankind. So Kat is the Kwisatz Haderach?

Something slightly off-topic: I think someone (other than me) said something before but when "Loup" nearly caught a glimpse of that mysterious something Renard was more likely near some something that Kat was working on than whatever the Court's secret something is; next update (or thereabouts) we will probably get to see the something he was talking about. Or something.

While I agree with zirka is that this comic is foremost interested in personal matters than in cosmological - like how the focus of the comic even after Loup's attack remained on Annie's(s') feelings - I love what you are saying here. Especially that sentence about the unseen sounds so delightfully ominious. You get the biggest cookie ever baked if you are correct here. Welcome! I won't launch a specific speculation on what Kat has wrought, but I agree with the idea that it involves the Arrow.

I can't believe we've had this Two Annies situation since November 9, 2018! That's over 1.5 years. And maybe with the next page we'll finally know Kat's real thoughts about that. Or her proposed solution. Can't wait. www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=2068

So Kat is the Kwisatz Haderach? *one Google search later* Haha, essentially yes! And I believe Kat will feel the same way towards the Court as Paul felt towards the Sisterhood if it actually played out that way. As a side note, I really need to get around to reading Dune.

I swear, if it turns out to be an Annie sized version of the double-slit experiment...

I don't think we have enough cookies for everyone who's been right. Anyone know how to split a pack of Lorna Doones, Jesus-style? I really think you should wait with distributing any cookies until we know what's behinad that door.

I swear, if it turns out to be an Annie sized version of the double-slit experiment... she is going to interfere the two Annie's wave-functions until they resolve/recombine into the "correct eigenstates"? (the original Annie + (??)). Ultra nerdy idea - I like it!

I swear, if it turns out to be an Annie sized version of the double-slit experiment... I think you may be on to something. Kat is familiar with the double-slit experiment. At the least, it could serve as a metaphor for the double-Annie situation; possibly it corresponds even more literally. The many-worlds interpretation of quantum physics sounds rather like Loup's split-off timelines, at least to a non-expert like me. Less seriously: Through the lens of this speculation, the exchange a couple pages later almost seems like ominous foreshadowing...
