Next page:
Eglamore: "Uhm, Carver and Carver, there was a strictly professional reason for ms. o'Kerrigan to be here."
Idra: "Yeah, we were mating like rabbits."
(I hope this is not breaking the rules of this board)

Well, let no one say that sir Eglamore is not a man of his word. Not gonna lie, half of me is miffed that Idra is no longer a viable romantic interest for Annie. But then, the other half of me is glad that Eggers is getting some, so... I guess that's even? Also, from the previous page, Court Annie blushed at Eglamore's compliment, but Forest Annie didn't - and was even puzzled as to why Court Annie did. I feel like, after the initial sameness of their reaction to Idra, there's going to be some disparity, possibly because of relationship developments that Forest Annie was not around for. I thought the blushing happened because of the altercation court Annie had just had over her powers with Eglamore, an argument Forest Annie wasn’t privy to. www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=2194

It seems to suggest that C-Annie has developed a little crush on the Egg-man. Or maybe just a bit embarrassed by the complement... (but why??) F-Annie is more like "our" Annie, and has more of an oil-and-water relationship with Eggs, and so wouldn't think much of his compliments and is puzzled by C-Annie's blushing. EDIT: And then again, Polyhymnia might be right too, and C-Annie is embarrassed more by her own previous actions - here she is being complemented by someone who she was just a bit nasty to.

OK, ok, but also no no no. Isn't she more about daughter-age for Eggsies? Do we even know Idra's age? She's just CLEARLY feeling very at home, even so much, Eggers had to force her to cover up (Idra's family believe in as-much-skin-contact-with-the-air to hear the voice of Nature in calm times)! No wait, that's not really better, is it? Annies! Get your eyes back in your sockets! Looks like you'll want to edit your profile pic again: " comment outfit"!

I feel like Tom is trolling us like he did with Jenny. In what way did Tom troll us with Jenny? I can only remember that some people thought she was a cleaned-up Zimmy.

Of course, Idra *could* have taken over Egg's place after he moved back in with Jones...

Honestly, I hope this isn’t a troll or Eggy just trying to rebound from Surma or find a replacement or whatever(can it be called a rebound after literal decades?). Just something casual and fun or PERHAPS MORE? Jury’s still out on whether this is age appropriate but I got the vibe that Idra was in her late 20s or 30s at least? If the latter, I’m on board, because it’s about time, James. Idra looks like she had fun, too, so y’know, consenting adults and all that. If it was just shenanigans where Idra spilled something on her shirt, I’m going to be...miffed, at best.
Yippee ki yay, mfs! (This was my first thought and I am unashamed.)

I'm sure there's an innocent explanation for this. She doesn't have too many hangups about being fully clothed in the first place, and was bathing right now? But yes. So it seems. The sadist in me kinda hopes that, in the small talk which will follow, Idra asks the Antimonies to explain the pet name Eglamore gave her: "My Viridian Surma." Not a chance. Even if Eglamore did (and he won't, at least after blurting her name out the first time). Idra almost certainly knows who Surma was, because the entire forest knows: about time when Annie got the job, or after Smitty's show at the latest, people would ask "who's that?", and those who did know would explain to those who didn't (per advice of Hodja Nasreddin). Also, looking forward to what Jones thinks about all this. Jones? The longest comment anyone would get out of her is: <deadpan expression> <three light tap-squeezes on the shoulder, done slowly>.

Still, this one here is much less ambiguous. Wearing the guy's shirt and nothing else... If that was just trolling, then Jenny would have needed sharp teeth and red eyes the first time we saw her.

Idra would have been really young when Surma was visiting the Wood so even assuming that everyone knew means literally everyone Idra might think being compared to Surma as flattery... and might not know what "viridian" means... or might think that the Antimonies might be delighted to hear about the new Surma.

I'm delighted to see that Tom has finally come up with a stylized way of drawing Eglamore which makes him instantly recognizable. My only criticism might be that this new style make him look a little feminine, but on looking at previous appearances of Eglamore in the comic I see that in fact he always had a little of that quality, it's just that it is more exaggerated in this new style.
So, to sum up, great job! I can finally recognize Eglamore!

Yeah, Annie's full name is Antimony Barbara Carver. ABC. I totally buy it.

You can hardly say its a rebound after more than 15 years. Jones of course doesnt count as a mate, because we are not quite sure if jones counts as... whatever jones counts as.
I am always weirded out that she got the shape of a human, millions of years before there where any humans. And its not like the Human form is anything but fixed in GKU.

For some reason Eglamore here reminds me of Eglamore as the second lead from Return to Planet of the Eglamores, the animated sequel to Planet of the Eglamores. I'll upload a pic.

You say that, but back then some people bent all principles of logic to justify their ship.

I expect Tom was expecting us to not be quite so, "adults hooking up, yay" about it, haha. I guess we'll stop being so relaxed about it when we learn what the catch is. And I bet you there is a catch. But for now, it's a welcome break from the recent developments, which were in turn dark, grim, cringy and/or foreboding.

The O'Kerrigans are a very old family from here in Connaght (Ballykerrigan in Mayo, in fact), where people still believe in fairies bright and dark. Nice touch. And Idra herself looks like (if you ignore the green skin) and reminds me of my sister-in-law's daughter, in fact, an Irishwoman now living in Australia.
