I've only come in lately to make unintelligent statements but here's another one anyway:
DARN THAT ANWYN GIRL IS HOT. Although she has open eyes. The Anwyn in the extra comics all had sort of closed-looking almond eyes?

Although she has open eyes. The Anwyn in the extra comics all had sort of closed-looking almond eyes? Which lends to the thought she might be half Anwyn. Or it's the eyes always shut trope, specifically the part where the eyes open when stuff gets real.

Or daughter, I dunno, maybe Anwyn have long lives like elves!

We see Parley, both Annies, (probably) Rey, and one other person -- probably that guy. But where's Cvet? Cvet: *swivels around in chair* Is unable to move, yes? Then perhaps you stay and politely listen to gossip for once. Parley: F-for how long? Forest Annie: *swivels around in the same chair* Six months! AHAHAHA! *sips tea* That was amazing and you should feel amazing.

The Welsh underworld has been mentioned in the comic, so the author (and I) would know that word (specifically, the Black Dogs of the British Isles bonus page has the Cŵn Annwn); but do you know Welsh to confirm that Anwyn means "those who come from Annwn"? It seems like a plausible (edit: and pleasant) solution, but the linked article neither supports nor disproves it. Outward resemblance doesn't suffice; e.g. this 19th-century English-Welsh dictionary gives "unkind, morose" for both "anvyn" and "annwyn", which probably has nothing to do with the intent here. I think this could plausibly be read as "the prince of the Anwyn [clan]" (although this line also makes the species hypothesis seem more plausible to me). Titles of nobility tend not to have exact mappings across cultures; a Russian knyaz' gets his title translated as "prince" and there are many, whereas there is only one prince in all of Wales. As has been mentioned, it's the Canvey Island Monster talking, who might not know anything about the Anwyn (whether this means family or species) and might not know that Kamlen has brothers (thus "the prince" seeming unambiguous to him; it's likewise possible that the definite article is simply being used because it being Kamlen is implicitly clear, i.e. compare "the son of man" referring to a certain entity, even though technically many people are sons of men), or whether they even truly have princes at all.

Then again, since much on that page is exaggerated ("100 years") the term "prince" may just indicate a significant member of the Anwyn [clan], and not the leader, or royalty at all...

I still think "Anwyn" is not the name of the species, but of a certain family It's a country of origin: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annwn[/quote] I've noticed the similarity, but we don't know if Tom based "Anwyn" on "Annwn" (he's knowledgeable enough on world mythology that it's possible, but the similarity may have been unintended). And if he had, it might have been intended as only an echo and nothing more. (He's taken liberties with legends before - the "true story" of the Minotaur being the obvious one, but also having Brinnie's punishment for defying Odin being sent to school at the Court rather than sleeping within a ring of fire - and her punishment is taking place *after* the stories about her disobedience and punishment were written down, or making the Ashray a giant fish-monster rather than the more humanoid figure of the original tales.

Seriously though, I've started to wonder if she's like Future Trunks from Dragonball, from the alternate timeline where Jeanne + her green beau did not get arrowed by Diego and Steadman et al. I mean Tom has shown his affinity for Dragonball a few times now!
