Looks like the reality of the situation is starting to sink in for Anthony. And we haven't really had any sitcom incidents yet (the line about sharing HER clothes may hint at an upcoming one though).

I hope Tony has fully abandoned his hopes of bringing Surma back, otherwise the existence of two daughters, both of whom have Surma's soul, might be too great a temptation.

Now if we're really going into sitcom mode they'll both come downstairs for breakfast in the morning, eat silently while staring each other down and completely fail to notice the large crowd assembled outside the house to see what the deal is.

My next guess: some midnight ether-based fire-spirited snooping by BOTH parties. Either that, or some Zimmy and Gamma shenanigans! I really miss Zimmy...

Annie being jealous of herself from six months ago. Hilarity ensues... if Tom decides to go the sitcom way, that is. Hm, it seems Renard gets along fine with Tony... Well, the three of them have been living together there for half a year, and after the events up until Annie's departure to the forest, it was natural that both Courtnie and Renard's relationship with Tony evolved and developed over time. Here you go:

What maybe not everyone noticed: Renard says this to Tony while Fannie is still on the stairs.

The ongoing adventures of long term only sibling(s), one(s) that is(are) especially eager for attention, suddenly gaining a 'sibling' to compete with.
I've also been considering this another fun foray into "POV of a narrative drastically shapes the audiences perceptions of a character", because we have two characters that are very similar, reacting in similar ways, but we are much less suspicious of one than the other. Because it's the one we've seen and followed.
Oddly familiar, eh Tony.

What Tony is thinking: "This is an unprecedented opportunity...for science! I can experiment with one daughter, and keep the other as the control!"

And then discover (most likely after it had happened) that the process would drain both of them, not just one. (Though I suppose it would probably be too much of a cliche for an injury to one to affect them both.)

Every time I see the two Annies in the same panel my first thought ends up being "Yup, I like Forest Annie better."

Imagine being an only child, then all of a sudden having a sibling, that has all of your things, and has been hanging out with your best friends for months. Or having to suddenly share with a sibling that honestly believes all your stuff is theirs. Come Monday, I seriously hope Fannie and Courtnie sit and have a good chat. Maybe in the Ether. The sooner they have it out, the better for the both of them.

Maybe Tony is planning to sell Forest!Annie to the Psychopomps to ensure they leave Court!Annie alone?

Since C!Annie is taller by a few cm, she may be able to give F!Annie clothes that don't fit so well anymore, so no great loss to her. We will see if the two evolve (or maybe already have) different taste in clothes tho, due to possibly somewhat different personalities. If one had to guess, it seems C!Annie is more formal, serious, traditional while F!Annie is more adventurous, close to nature, flexible.

Short-haired Annie seems a little more rude than I'd think Annie would be, but this IS such a weird situation that I suppose her behavior isn't our of the realm of possibility.

The most predictable outcome would be either for Court!Annie to be revealed as a fake, or for this whole situation to be revealed to be false and some kind of vision or dream from Loup.
Or Tom could go for the unexpected and make Forest!Annie fake, or that the situation is just as its been shown and both are real.
Personally I hope for the last option. Going forward with the main character split in two seems to have the potential for the most interesting stories.

I suspect we're gonna have two Annies going forward. Why?
Mostly because this is the comic where Kat absentmindedly declaring "It was worth it" is enough to be a mantra for a forming religion; this is the comic were Annie telling a newly constructed robot that he may return "if he wants to" is sufficient for the major conflict of this comic to kick off; this is the comic where Alistair saying "'kay" to whatever his parents were saying was enough for him to live as a bird for the rest of his life; this is the comic where Annie saying "Red, how can you be so cruel" is sufficient for her having accidentally made someone come of age.
What I'm getting at is that this is a comic where people make minor decisions which have major consequences. And I suspect Loup's creation of a second Annie was a minor decision taken because he had recently been given powers beyond his comprehension. And this is something they'll have to live with.

There might even be a possibility that Tom might introduce ANOTHER Annie into this, given that there seems to be no precedent as to what the cause of this "phenomenon" is. Which just opens a lot more doors.

I hope Annie enjoys having a twin, then. It's honestly not that bad, really. 'Course, since my twin is my sister and I'm a guy, it's a little less irritating, but I'm sure they'll have a lot to talk about and enjoy once they hash out this whole "I'm the Superior Annie" business.

The tilde at the end of the first speech bubble is a funny choice, if its being used to indicate he's holding out the end of her name. I'm trying to figure out how Tony would be saying it. I can't imagine him having doing it in a sing-song way like when a parent is calling their child, but him doing it completely monotone with that blank expression is just too silly.
I really like the different expressions the two Annie's have, Forest Annie seems more annoyed or tired while Court Annie is more of concern attention. I think they appear to be getting along at least slightly better. I definitely have a feeling that these two are here to stay for while and have to come to terms with the differences between each other, which are really just conflicts within Annie.
I also just love that expression on Tony's face, and the way he looks like he's staring out into the stars.
