Aside from the actual villains of the comic, is there anyone Tom wants us to like less than Eglamore? He's always got some off-color remark or behaves awkwardly in every scene he's in. Today's Stupid Jimmy Comment™ makes me want to smack him across the face. Everyone else is evidently fine with Forest!Annie so chill tf out That's kind of his job though, isn't it? He's basically head of Court security in the middle of a war, he's gonna ask questions and be suspicious. Especially when he was very against the idea of Annie going in the Forest to begin with.

The sad part is that with Coyote not being there we have turned Gillitie mostly into farms by now... Ah, so the Omega Device allows conversion of the Forest into farmland, thereby increasing the amount of food that can be produced to sustain the human population? ... Sounds pretty realistic, actually.

Last we saw, Renard was living with Annie. If that's still the case, then taking her (them) home should lead to the interaction with Renard that we've been anticipating.

I like the subtle implication that Jones wouldn't have bothered to get dressed if Egg Salad hadn't pressed the issue.

He's understandably suspicious and confused, sure, but I don't see anything particularly rude about him being unsure of how to address the two Annies. Also, from his perspective, Carver stole his girl and then willfully murdered her, so from that viewpoint, I think Boiled Egg is being remarkably civil.

Sounds pretty realistic, actually. Step 1) Collect ether from surrouding water; Step 2) Use etheric energy to increase range and collect ether from Gillitie trees and creatures turning them to dust in the proccess; Step 3) Sell cleared land and pay the Court's electric bill Current money efficiency is at 6%. WORTH IT

Both are fake. The real one is in stasis, still at the forest. There is no Annie. The whole comic has been fake. This forum does not exist.

Prediction: Everyone will come home, Rey will be there and immediately take to Forest!Annie because she smells like the forest, and things will quickly go south from there.

Yes, that's the main obstacle to the notion that the long-haired version of Annie is a fake. Short of somehow magically transferring her memories of her conversation with Loup to the short-haired version of Annie, it would make that entire chapter seem a waste. There's the Deep Space Nine episode "Whispers", where it's told from the POV of an unknowing enemy duplicate. It's played for mystery and suspense, as the audience isn't in on it, but it's an interesting look into the "Other" being similar to ourselves. If done right, I wouldn't mind it here. What I meant was that "Neither" contained a lot of important exposition and revelations that would have an effect upon Annie (including Ysengrin briefly resurfacing to warn Annie about the Court's plans for her). If it turns out that the "Annie" in that chapter wasn't the real one, then all those elements don't reach the real Annie and shape her (or at most, she'd learn them second-hand, which wouldn't have as strong an impact). (Incidentally, I was reading the latest "Lumberjanes" book today - Volume Ten - and there was a scene in it, to my surprise, which strongly echoed the current development in the comic. Which is all I dare say about it here, though anyone else who's read it will know what I'm talking about. I need to work out how to handle the "spoiler" function in this forum.)

Agreed, and I think Ysengrin would have noticed if the Annie he was talking to wasn't the real one.

Another photo from the same location: The buildings and roofs in the lower right make me reasonably sure this or something very close to it is Tom's reference picture. Kind of super weird that I should stumble across this on the same day the relevant page is posted.

Right, Eggers is the only sensible guy in the situation. From his standpoint, there is at least one spy in this group and Tony must be nuts to just let her walk around. Eggers is certainly not taking this weird duplicate to Central Admin. The strange behavior is that of the others.

As far as important plot developments go:
Is this the first time Smitty is referred to as such in the actual comic outside of chapter titles??‽
