I'm on the fence here. It's well in character for Annie to be really upset if she'd "just learned" Ys had died, but on the other hand, the failing clone trying to hide it is a pretty well worn trope. So, wildspec: Perhaps Court!Annie got Forest!Annie's 'lost time' and now the fire is going out? (Almost certain someone suggested this earlier but I can't think where). Also those who speculated that Rey's rejection of Forest!Annie would be brutal are flat out wrong. It'll be much worse than that.

Why does this make me more suspicious of Court!Annie than I already was?

If Court!Annie is a shapeshifter then she was very likely one who lived in the forest so it's unsurprising that she might be upset to hear that Ysengrin is gone. Of course, Antimony was friends with Ysengrin so if Court!Annie is a copy or real she'd still feel the same way. But it does show she is probably not a robot.

I'm still of the opinion that Court!Annie is just a split off portion of the real (aka Forest) Annie, and that's why its gonna be even more cruel when it shows she's dying.
So not only did Annie miss out on 6 months of her life with her friends and family, but any development that was made between them basically fizzles out.
6 months is a very long time.

It does seem like Annie to, even amid extra information about how much danger the Court is in from the Forest, be more troubled about Ysengrin's fate. (Alongside how, in the last chapter, she seemed more angry at Loup for mocking and sneering at Ysengrin than for threatening Gunnerkrigg.)

What makes me suspicious of Court!Annie is how she went back to her old "girly" self with makeup and all after just 6 months. It kinda contradicts the recovery/self-discovery path Annie was walking after Tony's arrival, with Ysengrim breaking her blinker stone and scolding her, etc.
After all, Forest!Annie would still be Court!Annie, but six months ago in her past. Court!Annie would have chosen that same practical outfit if going into the forest.
What could happen in that little time that would make her revert to her old self? A mending of her relationship with Tony and being kept apart from the forest? Tony did gave her make up back a while ago.

Who's that guy in panel 2 (not Tony), I've never seen anyone like him in the whole comic. It's Jones. She's not a guy. I sense something fake in Court!Annie... For the moment I'm almost sure they both believe themself to be real, and don't understand how the other one can look so much like her... Try to figure out how you would deal with another you... It's quite unsettling.

I find it very strange that Court!Annie doesn't want to talk to Forest!Annie more. I understand the adults are like OKAY FINE I'VE SEEN WEIRDER but if I were in Court!Annie's shoes I'd be asking a lot of questions to the other me who seems to be turning reality upside down (unless I already knew I was the fake). This page smells like Court!Annie is trying to garner sympathy to possibly help alienate Forest!Annie. I think Real Annie would not just buy that he is dead without investigating for herself.

"I find it very strange that Court!Annie doesn't want to talk to Forest!Annie more." It goes both ways, Forest Annie is not trying to talk to Court Annie either. Forest Annie called Court!Annie a fake as well.
No Renard around who likely could see through whatever is going on.
"Try to figure out how you would deal with another you... It's quite unsettling." It can be, it can be case similar to sibling rivalry, or it could be a dream come true/teamwork. Girl Genius webcomic has the dream come true portion with "The Other" making clones of herself. A clone can be a partner with very similar goals that can help you accomplish twice as much in similar time.
If they are both Annie, then may be another Annie/surma situation where "mom and daughter could not bear to be apart" (suggesting transfer happens when they are close together) and mom grew weaker as daughter grew... court annie may be losing her life to forest annie, and forest annie gets a preview of what happens to her if she has a kid.

I see it as quite practical, really. One Annie can go work for the psychopomps and/or be used for Court experiments, and we still have one left to do actual stuff. Now we only need to determine which. ;-)

So, Court!Annie just found out that the forest god who they've been calling Ysengrin is now Loup, and sure, Ysengrin being gone would be something to be sad over. My question, though, is what was she thinking about Ysengrin in the meantime? Like, he attacked the court and told you to leave, and you haven't seen him in 6 months since then. Surely your attitude towards him would have soured after the first three month of the continuous forest attacks and lack of communication...?

Some of your posts make me indeed wonder... Why does no one involved, neither Kat nor Tony, Jones, Eggman, or Courtney or Fannie themselves think of asking questions that only the real Annie could know? Would it not be a much more obvious method of determining the realness of one or both Annies instead of thinking about a "Renard test"?

One Annie can go work for the psychopomps and/or be used for Court experiments, and we still have one left to do actual stuff. Now we only need to determine which. ;-) Actually, if one becomes the new Surma then the Gendo/Rei/Shinji triad is finally complete. Some of your posts make me indeed wonder... Why does no one involved, neither Kat nor Tony, Jones, Eggman, or Courtney or Fannie * themselves think of asking questions that only the real Annie could know? Would it not be a much more obvious method of determining the realness of one or both Annies instead of thinking about a "Renard test"? The Court probably figured that Court!Annie was going to immediately denounce Forest!Annie as a fake** and explain who/what she really is, so they didn't plan much beyond that. It would probably take some thought to generate a list of questions that both only the real Antimony would know the answers to and also that a fake wouldn't be able to figure out answers to while impersonating Antimony all this time. Eggers may not have interacted with her much for an indeterminate period of time before the attack anyway. Forest!Annie should have been the most insistent about asking Court!Annie questions that could trip her up but it appears she's too bewildered by the changes in the Court and Court!Annie's rapport with Anthony to be thinking along those lines. Also if they do identify one as fake it would be best to do so under controlled conditions where she couldn't escape or kill someone or take a hostage if she decides she's got nothing to lose. Best to put the suspects singly in an interrogation room and question them one at a time. Actually, I wouldn't have let either leave the building in the first place until the situation had been resolved. *Maybe we should vote on official names for the twins for forum use. Courtnie and Fannie are pretty good. **And no, Court!Annie saying that Forest!Annie appears to be real doesn't necessarily mean that Court!Annie isn't a fake. It might seem to be a good idea for a fake Court!Annie to denounce the real thing when she returns but remember that if Court!Annie's a fake she's there under orders from or by the will of "Loup" who probably wouldn't appreciate the real Antimony getting imprisoned for several reasons.

I'm still trying to think of a good reason why fAnnie hasn't asked to see Reynardine (at least, as far as we know).
Now, it's true that from her perspective, it hasn't been all that long since she last saw him. But now that she's been informed of the time skip, you'd think he'd be the first one she'd want to talk to other than Kat and (maybe) her father.
Instead, she's gone off on this Jones-seeking expedition without so much as a thought for Rey. That seems a bit off kilter -- at least as much so as some of the things that have been pointed out about cAnnie. I don't see why the shock of meeting her doppelganger would be enough to account for it.
It makes me think that neither of the two Annies is entirely whole and functioning normally.

If it wasn't for the fact that Reynardine showed up for a bit near the end of the chapter where Ysengrin became Loup and attacked the Court, I'd be tempted to wonder if Tom had forgotten about the character.

Maybe it's just the three-pages-a-week pace that makes it seem like Annie's gone so long without giving thought to Rey. I believe this is still the same in-comic day she walked back though the shield, right?
