Way to go Anja. Now back to your regularly scheduled doomsaying: What's this kind of effort costing her? Or is it the computer doing it?

Yes Ysengrin, the court has more tricks than you know!
I'm so looking forward to a proper Eglamore Ysengrin showdown. We've been waiting since almost the beginning of the comic!

Ooooh, I wonder if that rune he drew was a connector to the etheric computer, asking for a barrier to squash the flames?

I am sure Coyote was aware of the Court's defence system. Which would indicate Ysengrin at least didn't inherit all of his knowledge when he swallowed Coyote. If Coyote died, he went into the ether, which is also what he was born from. So I am still hoping for a Coyote versus Ysengrin showdown.

Not quite as powerful as Coyote was? *Would* Coyote have been able to get through such a force field?

Not quite as powerful as Coyote was? *Would* Coyote have been able to get through such a force field? Both have caused destruction inside the Court. The difference is that Ys has given the Court the opportunity to deploy countermeasures, whereas Coyote prefers to posture and play a longer game.

Will the force field block Ysengrin's commands to the two giant trees as well as his direct attacks? The Court had better hope so; otherwise, Ysengrin could have them take out whatever mechanism is powering the force field.

Or, 1- Coyote was able to destroy that one building before they could raise the shield, much like Ys could do some damage to the building near the bridge 2- the Court built the shield after Coyote hit that buidling

Not quite as powerful as Coyote was? *Would* Coyote have been able to get through such a force field? We still don't know what Coyotes powers Y has, outside of his "strength". Ironically, Coyote's "strength" may not have been his strongest power. As far as we know, Coyote could have suddenly remembered he was inside the force field the whole time. Among other things. *Coyote stands in front of the Court with the force field distant in the background*Coyote: "How do they expect such a force field to hold back me?" *Reached over his shoulder, grabs the prospectively small force field, and places it in his palm.*Coyote: "It's just so ridiculously small. Hehehe!" *Throws force field away, and trots into the Court.*

If Coyote died, he went into the ether, which is also what he was born from. So I am still hoping for a Coyote versus Ysengrin showdown. And I'm expecting an Ysengrin vs Reynard fight to the death, resulting in the destruction of Reynard's body followed by a desperate body possession of Ysengrin and an etheric fight between the two while Coyote takes over the body and expel Ysengrin stripped of all his powers. The recovering of Coyote's body may or may not involve a lower Coyote summoned from the ether by the combination of the giggling tooth blade, the lake water and the goose bone and he fusing back with the rest of his body after Reynard possess it and starts fighting Ysengrin in the ether (PS: I know this bold part is extremely overused but I had to integrate it coz it makes sense) As far as we know, Coyote could have suddenly remembered he was inside the force field the whole time. Among other things. He was probably Paz's mouse this whole time

And I'm expecting an Ysengrin vs Reynard fight to the death, resulting in the destruction of Reynard's body followed by a desperate body possession of Ysengrin and an etheric fight between the two while Coyote takes over the body and expel Ysengrin stripped of all his powers. Possessing Ysengrin would have to be truly desperate for everyone - not just Reynardine (remember that he can't take over someone else's body without Annie's permission). Possessing Ysengrin would kill him, and unless it had truly reached the point where there was no other way to prevent him from destroying the Court, I'm not sure Reynardine or Annie would be willing to take that step. Not to mention that the Court, given its views on Reynardine, would be uncomfortable at the thought of his now being outside their control, in the body of an Ysengrin possessed of Coyote's powers - they'd see it as trading one danger for another. It'd do everything it could to stop Annie from giving permission, unless it indeed reached the point of "no other means of survival". I still question whether Coyote will return from the dead in this chapter. It poses the danger of dulling the shock of his death if he's back again by the chapter's end. This has definitely turned out to be a far more dramatic chapter than the title suggested; a name like "Memories of the Worthless" had led me to expect it would be a quiet chapter delving into Ysengrin's post and motivations, with the present-day part of the story being just the framework for it..

I still question whether Coyote will return from the dead in this chapter. Certainly not in this chapter. But he will revive in some way from the lake water in the future, I'm sure.
