I read the grin as intense delayed gratification, god-essence-fuelled power rush, and (likely partially unwarranted) self-satisfaction/self-congratulation. The exact formula will depend on the type of character mashup, which we can't exactly tell yet. It's (justifiedly) goofy because it's got Coyote in it, but it's also (in-world) scary because it very much looks like the safety's off. Unlike the Dreamworks face someone mentioned, it seems perfectly possible to make sense of.

Headmaster: "Pay no mind to the giant looming hand, The Annan Waters are impassable." Annie: "Er..." The headmaster very probably does not know about Jeanne. The Founders erased all records of her and of what they did to fortify the Annan waters.

"The moral is: Do not be a dead goose in a bush next to a lake! "... Be a wolf with god-like powers instead! Much more interesting, hehe! " - Coyote, probably

Love the use of scale here. Other than that, though: *someone* is probably f*cked.

I wonder how Yscoygretyfish look in the Ether now. I keep thinking about this, too. There's so much setup for focusing on what everyone looks like in the Ether and how it reflects their true selves. I'm still kind of hoping for a big Ysengrin/Coyote/Reynard/Annie/Kat/Zimmy showdown in the Ether.

I can just picture how, in the final climax, everyone rushes towards each other and freezes in place. Several moments where we see them all just quietly standing around....and then cut to the ethereal overlay, where all the fire and/or wood and/or metal is flying everywhere.
