Obviously, this is Coyosengrin. Or Coyongrin for short. I favor Grinote, myself.

It fits his image, too, doesn't it? "-ote" works as an augmentative suffix in Spanish, so Grinote is Spanglish for "Big Grin".

Well. Coyote is dead, long live Coyote.
Or Grinote/Coysengrin.

Pfft, fusion is just a cheap tactic to make weak metaphysical forest god dogs stronger.

I... am not a fan of the design. Like, I get what it's going for, but it looks like a fourteen-year-old's first sparkledog OC. The Dreamworks smirk doesn't help. Maybe it'll look better when we see it in motion, but I just had to shake my head and laugh at it. I protest your inaccurate terminology. That isn't a DreamWorks face. One eyebrow isn't higher than the other.

There is no Ysengrin! Only Zuul!

Add me to the list of people who think that Ysengrin looks "comic-book super-heroish" in his new form, maybe a little too ridiculously so. (I hope this won't undermine the serious elements in the story that are clearly coming.)

I actually like the Coysengrin bandied about by feraldog. a slight mod of your original rolls pretty well: Ysen-ote. Also reflects the fact that firstly, it's Ysengrin, but with -ote elements added...

I find it hard to believe that this was not Coyote's plan. How long has he been grooming Ysengrin for this, knowing that Ysengrin will kill him some day and allowing for a body and mind meld. Best thing: now he has two witnesses, both mediums and therefore trustworthy, to say that all of this was Ysengrin, and Coyote had nothing to do with it. Oh God, I hope this doesn't turn out like that. I've been waiting forever for Annie to figure out what's going on with Ysengrin and Coyote, and if she at least isn't clued in after this is all over I'm gonna lose it.

He now looks more like Coyote wearing Ysengrin like a badly fitting glove, instead of upgraded Ysengrin. It's the eyes in particular. And the ear of course (which I agree is a riot) I definitely see more Coyote than Ysengrin in this image. Puts me in the Coyote Planned This camp.

I'll at least say that this is 100% not what I expected to see, navigating to the web page gunnerkrigg.com today. I was expecting something like... Ys being like "yes, now I know what I need to do," and all the apprehension and ominousness continuing. Instead I saw this and my immediate reaction was something along the lines of "UH... PFFFFF." I guess we can only wait and see where this is going.

I'm not liking the look, but we haven't seen it in action. Like the Killer Rabbit, can you imagine bones all around him? He(They?) could end up being filed under "Cute and Psycho", like the Vampire Twins from Black Lagoon, or any character from When They Cry. It would be very disturbing to have that cracking my ribcage with a bite, while saying "Hey, do you like my ear? Hehe. *crack*"

Who made the call he was gonna do a magical girl transformation?
Which one of you monsters unbalanced the cosmos and made Tom do this?

Yeah, this page just looks wrong tonally to me, especially considering the preceding pages and what Ysengrin normally acts like.

Oh I know it'll be great, and I just can't wait, to see the Wolf that you are together. If you give it a chance, you could do a huge dance, because you are a giant God-wolf. You might even like being together, and if you don't, it may still be forever. But if it were me, I'd really wanna be, a giant God-wolf. A giiiant God-wolf! Well that was . . . unexpected.
Is anyone else curious about the white teardrop symbol on his forehead? Kind of reminds me of Annie's symbol on Rey's forehead, or the symbol, or Hetty's symbol in the Quicksilver arc.
Also, those eyes look nothing like Ys's anymore. And that smirk is very Coyote.
Is Coyote possessing Ys, at least partially? Or is it the other way around?

Yeah, this page just looks wrong tonally to me, especially considering the preceding pages and what Ysengrin normally acts like. Get over it. This is the new Ysengrin. Coyote made him forget his flamboyant side, but now all those memories are back and he's more powerful than ever. You all need to stop with your body shaming. He's in it for the power, not the aesthetics. /s

So we can all agree he looks kinda ridiculous Yes. I logged in for the first time in quite a while to express my bemusement at one of the very, very few poor choices in design the webcomic has made thus far. This is just straight up Deviant Art "this is my Sonic OC pls do not steal" -tier design. Sorry, not sorry. =/ HOWEVER. This does make me happy to think that perhaps Coyote is not dead dead. I was disconsolate at the notion of Coyote being written out. So, what we have here... is it Ysengrin with Coyote personality living in his head as a separate consciousness? Is it a blend of Coyote's and Ysengrin's personalities? Is it just 100% Ysengrin personality, now with ~*Coyote sparkles*~? Tom still has me on the edge of my seat.

I think the design is intentionally ridiculous, hence the giant, cheesy 'FLASH' just before it. I don't think this is Coysen's final form yet.
