I don't think the ribs showing are Coyote's literal stripped bones at all. I've noticed that Coyote is sometimes represented in a skeletal form, usually when something deceitful is happening (but not always; I haven't quite figured out the pattern yet).

Well, there goes another inflatable Coyote decoy.
The chew marks will never come out. Do you know how much those things cost?

Annie has repeatedly and directly been coached by coyote about the importance of standing your ground, literally with ysengrin himself, and since ysengrin possesses coyote's power now she's probably perfectly aware how much there's absolutely no point in running or bringing in help.

I'm inclined to agree with this. The sword was given to Parley, and that's where we're left with the story. We do not know where it is now, but the last time we saw it, Annie did not take it back. It would be completely logical if the fencer kept it. The sword was given to Parley, and the last we saw it the sword was lying on the floor after being dropped. If we're going purely off where we last saw it, it would be logical to conclude it was still lying on the floor in the fencing room. The next page, however, includes a Parley colored request to make the sword go away, after which we see Rey and Annie on the ground by Shadow. Context would seem to indicate that Parley backs off, horrified, while Annie and Rey act to contain the sword and tend to Shadow. Fair enough. She might as well be carrying it with her. It definitely should have been somewhere around Shadow if not taken away. I still hold the position that we do not know where the Tooth Sword is now. It's 30 chapters since we saw it, much has happened. Parley is a different beast now than she was back then. But yeah, if Parley would still not want it, it would be logical for Annie to have it just as an amulet and just to keep it from anybody getting to do real harm with it, even if she had no intention to ever use it herself. And she might find such intentions in herself in the forthcoming pages. However, my bet is it's not going to be her first thought even if she had it and could resort to it, maybe not even the second thought. If she carries it with her, so far when in trouble she has not once resorted to it. It could well be that she doesn't simply know how to handle it, the reason why she was giving it to Parley in the first place is that Parley might be able to use it.

That's true, but Parley wasn't able to use it. The problem with the sword is that it cuts everything. It is so ridiculously powerful that *not* destroying everything on your path is the difficult part. If they had used it against Jeanne, Jeanne might be scattered little bits of soul instead of joining her lover in the ether. Annie is a non violent person who doesn't seek to destroy even when her life is on the line. So I don't think that sword will ever be used in the... classical way that a sword is used, in a duel and everything. Annie will use it at some point in the story, now or later, but not in a fighter way. She'll use it in an Annie way.

Nor even that she wasn't able to use it. She just didn't know what they gave her until it was too late. They only started to explain her what it was after giving it to her, and then she was already cutting stuff all around her. She didn't really even try to use it, because she was shocked by what happened when she was too careless with it. But there's no reason why she wouldn't be able to use it as a sword now that she knows how powerful it is and is aware of how careful she must be with it. Edit: cutting everything is not a problem, if you're sure you wan't to cut the object you're hitting (often the goal in a sword fight), and you are good enough with sword not to slice anything else but what you want to. Parley really could be good enough. It's an extremely dangerous weapon, but it doesn't mean that she wouldn't have the skills to use it.

I agree that we do not know (for sure) where the tooth is, but based on how Annie has stored it in the past, it seems her preferred method of keeping others from getting hold of it is entrusting it to Reynard, rather than wear it as an amulet herself.

Here's your quaerens quem devoret. Normally yes, but she's already involved too much. Everything horrifying going on here, and my only thought is wondering how Coyote tastes. Tastes like chicken! Like dry bones of a goose?

Also, why do I think of a Pinata? Because you've watched Dexter's Laboratory? "Your vorpal teeth go snicker-snack, and off goes Coyote's head! And CANDY starts spraying out!" I watched a few episodes of this Show on Cartoon Network, but back then I understood only a few words of the English language, so probably not. Neat rhyme though.

You're right, and I would like to add that when Parley came back from training she was breaking stuff all around her without even having a weapon. If I were her, I would be EXTREMELY cautious and not ask to touch this sword again until I was a master fencer and 100% in control of what each and every muscle of my body was doing in each and every instant.
