While browsing the archives, I saw that Dr. Disaster works with the Gunnerkrigg Space-mo-nauts : a brilliant combination of astronaut and kosmonauts, in my opinion. Hence my poll, just for fun ;-)

whadda ya mean "what" ? Is my very first poll ever so unclear? *blush*
I thought that Tom combined the word astronaut with the word cosmonaut to make Dr. Disaster's spacemonauts : it's a combination of the everyday word "space" with the more exotic ending from the russian space programme. I see it as linguistic proof that Gunnerkrigg Court is above and beyond the remnants of the cold war.
To me, that was proof that he's not just a good writer who can write funny bits about the wandering nose of the trickster god and the need to wear pants while visiting Coyote... I concluded that he's a good thinker too *bows respectfully*
so any other examples of this ?

Just pointing out, combining astronaut and cosmonaut =/= spacemonaut. Space and astronaut does, and so does space and cosmonaut. But if he combined the first one, it has nothing to do with the russian space program at all.
You know, whatever.

Nah, it'd have to be the second two. Combining Space and Astronaut would result in Spacenaut, or maybe spaceronaut. There is no "mo" in either space or astronaut.
Yes, Tom is made of awesome.

I have not met Tom. I don't even live in his country. So I don't know how awesome he is in real life. But I do know that Gunnerkrigg Court is awesome, and that's good enough for me.
